Late summer in central Illinois just hits different, in the best way. Samantha & Bradley’s engagement session started at Ewing Manor in Bloomington, IL, and we were gifted with that warm, glowy light that makes everything feel a little extra magical. The gardens were still full of life, the air had that end-of-summer softness, and it was the perfect setting to kick things off. Like most couples, they showed up a little nervous at first, but honestly…that lasted maybe five minutes. Their laid-back, quirky personalities came out so quickly, and from there it was nonstop laughter. They kept making each other giggle in the sweetest, most natural way, and it made my job ridiculously easy. The light, the flowers, and the way they interacted…it all just clicked so effortlessly for them.
For the second half of their session, we headed over to the ISU Horticulture Center, which gave us a totally different vibe with lots of little tucked-away spots to explore. It felt a little more playful, a little more relaxed, and gave them space to just be themselves. One of my favorite moments was when they pulled out their sweatshirts with their “alter ego” personalities, Samantha as Tigger and Bradley as Eeyore (which honestly could not have been more perfect for them). They leaned all the way into the silliness, and the poses just kept getting funnier and more chaotic. I was laughing right along with them. We wrapped everything up with Bradley giving Samantha a piggyback ride, both of them laughing like crazy, completely in their own little world. It was such a fun, joy-filled session and the best reminder that engagement photos don’t have to be stiff or serious. They can just feel like you. I cannot wait for Samantha and Bradley’s big day this summer.
Warm Regards,
