I am a wedding and portrait photographer who keeps things light, fun, and full of energy. I’m based out of Springfield, Illinois however I love traveling all over the midwest and beyond.

Typically when I see mom, Cindy it’s at the Springfield, Illinois YMCA working her booty off in a high impact class. Usually we are both dripping sweat and out of breath when we leave. So when she asked me to photograph her family when her two girls were both in town I was very excited. We decided to start at the Springfield Union Station, which is the old train in the center of downtown. Daughters Sarah and Taylor were on hand with their dad, Rex as well as the family dog, cutie Buddy. They even had the right idea by bringing a family friend to keep Buddy under control while we were photographing the family without him. Which we did find out he wasn’t a huge fan of being kicked out of the family photos when he whined on a few occassions because he was missing out. Such a Diva!
After shooting around the train station for a bit we then headed over to Washington Park and the Botanical Gardens. This crew totally humored me while I tried out some new poses with mom and the girls, dad and his girls, and of course sisters. They were all up for anything and I really appreciated their laughter and fun along the way. I believe as children get older and start leaving the nest it is still so important to continue to bring everyone back together to have family photos taken. Even though your kids aren’t changing as much as when they did when they were younger the significance of gathering the whole family and documenting the charm, delight, and goofiness your loved ones express. Don’t miss out on these special moments because you think your kids are too old. You will cherish the memories you share together during our session as well as the photos you can look back on for years to come.
Warm Regards,
Lauren
