I am a wedding and portrait photographer who keeps things light, fun, and full of energy. I’m based out of Springfield, Illinois however I love traveling all over the midwest and beyond.
inquire about your session!
I had the pleasure of meeting this wonderful couple, Jeff & Laura, along with their blended family back in October 2015 for a mini session. We laughed and joked the entire 30 minutes of the session and you could feel the love between all of them. It wasn’t until the very end of the session that I found out that Jeff & Laura were not married. They joked that so many of their friends and family had often assumed they were married since they had been together for so long. “One Day” they said.
Well that day finally came in the last week of 2016! Laura had reached out to me around Thanksgiving to let me know they were finally planning a small, intimate wedding and wanted me to photograph their special day. I loved to hear this great news and couldn’t be happier to be a part of the day. Laura explained they were looking at a few different venues to hold their tiny wedding. She would be in touch to keep me posted on their plans since they were hoping to marry before the new year. Christmas came and went. No word on the wedding front. On the Tuesday before NYE, I happened to be thinking about these two while running errands and was beginning to think they were waiting for 2017. About two seconds later… I got a message from Laura. They decided to get married on that Friday night, at home, with about 5 people to witness the nuptials. It was perfect for the couple everyone already thought was married! However, they still wanted to meet that weekend to capture this time in their lives. We met on New Years Day on a unseasonably warm day, which in some instances lead Jeff carrying his new bride over his shoulder to avoid muddying her high heels. We visited Carpenter Park in Springfield followed by a bit of time at The Ostermeier Prairie Center. The goofing around and laughing that were part of our first session with their kids a year earlier was definitely still a main part of their session. I’m looking forward to more fun times with family in the future!
Warm Regards,
Lauren
