I am a wedding and portrait photographer who keeps things light, fun, and full of energy. I’m based out of Springfield, Illinois however I love traveling all over the midwest and beyond.
inquire about your session!
Most of the time when I’m contacted for senior photos it’s by the parent of a student. In Maddie’s case, a senior at Glenwood High School in Chatham, Illinois, it was no different. Her mom, Jess, reached out to me about senior photos for her daughter a few weeks ago. However, the difference with this inquiry was Jess said Maddie was the one that found me on Facebook and told her mom she would love to have me photograph her senior session! How awesome is that?! I don’t know what it is about this age group, but I honestly love working with them all! Although many are a bit on the shy side at first, such as Maddie, they always find a comfort level during our session to open up and be themselves. Being photographed can be very unnerving for anyone. Then add in the fact you are being photographed by yourself with most likely mom or dad looking on and that can make a senior tense up! In all of my senior sessions I always begin by joking around to help them feel at ease. Usually by the end it’s like they are hired models and enjoying every minute! When their true personality comes out and shines through their photographs.
Maddie’s personality is very caring, calming, and full of passion. Passion for her family as well as her music. She is in the band at Glenwood playing both flute and piccolo. We even discussed the couple of colleges she is looking at and how good their music programs are so she can continue her devotion towards her craft! She loved roaming around downtown Springfield and said that she enjoys coming down to the various historical spots such as the Capitol just to wander about. Hearing this I knew we chose some wonderful locations for her session such as the Springfield Union Station, Lincoln’s Home, followed by Washington Park. Oh…and of course the famous red door downtown Maddie definitely wanted! I’m so thankful that Maddie found me and thought my style would help make her once in a lifetime photos…perfect! Good Luck in your senior year, Maddie!
Warm Regards,
Lauren
