When I arrived at Halle’s family home, the morning of her and Isaac’s wedding day, the house was buzzing with energy! Hair and makeup had started, dresses were getting steamed, and overnight bags were being prepped. But, the anticipation for what was most important to Halle was bubbling to the top, which was marrying the man of her dreams! As she was waiting to get her hair and makeup done by her mom and sisters, I remember her asking myself and her videographer, Daniel, “What was the one thing we most remembered on our wedding day?” She said it just felt surreal that the day was already here! It was so special to Halle to be surrounded by all the most significant woman in her life helping her do her hair and makeup, like I’m sure they have done hundreds of times before. We took a few moments by the pool for a couple of PJ photos before it was time for Halle to step into her gown. And oh boy…Was that a MOMENT! This girl was absolutely STUNNING! With a long illusion train, which included dainty floral appliqués and the flower details continuing into the v-neck bodice her gown was remarkable! Then Halle added a cathedral length veil making her entire wedding day look flawless! She had a lovely moment with her bridesmaid, who saw her whole vision come together in a first look! So fun! Then it was off to the chapel for the ladies! Isaac and his groomsmen, made up of his two brothers and close friends, all got ready the morning of the big day at his parent’s home. This crew was full of laughs and brought the fun to this big day! Isaac was calm and enjoying his time being around his loved ones. There were even a few antics prior to leaving for the church, but with three boys in the family, I’m sure that’s par for the course.
Before we knew it, the time had arrived and the ceremony was here at the lovely First Christian Church in downtown Springfield, Illinois. The late July day was one of the hottest days of the year and believe me, we were all feeling it. So much so that when it came time for Halle and Isaac’s first look, we had to give it a few seconds for my lenses to stop fogging up with steam! However, thank goodness the steam gave way for this perfect moment when Isaac couldn’t believe his eyes when he turned and saw his bride on the steps of the church! What a pure and emotional moment! The pair chose to read private vows to one another, which invoked laughter and a meaningful responses from each of them. I adore being let into to these little flashes of time with my couples. Now let’s get these two married!
As Isaac waited at the front of the altar for his bride, Halle walked down the aisle with her mom. Sadly her father, who had passed a few years ago, could not be the one to make this heartfelt gesture with her. However, she held onto his memory, literally and figuratively, with a piece of orange ribbon (his favorite color) wrapped around the stems her bouquet. It was as if he was right by her side the whole walk. The couple exchanged rings, vows, and sealed their love with a kiss. They were pronounced husband and wife and the new Mr. & Mrs. Warren walked up the aisle! During the nuptials, a quick summer rainfall had moved through with a few sprinkles making things a little more toasty outside. But, it also formed a radiant rainbow almost right over the church! I don’t know about you but I think that’s a pretty good sign to kick off your marriage! The couple exited the back steps of the church where guests threw streamers almost like webs basically weaving the couple together! What a cool look! Although for Halle and Isaac (and myself and Daniel the videographer…It took some help getting out of it all!) Yet, once we did, it was off to the Illinois State Capitol for photos.
Halle and Isaac’s bridal party was amazing! I mean they were brought all the energy and fun all while it was super hot and we were a tad pressed for time! So not only were they making me giggle while we were knocking out all the essential bridal party shots, but they were being very attentive and helping out when they could! CHEERS to this crew! The girls looked incredible in their turquoise dresses with various styles to show off their unique personalities. Then you added in the pop of white and turquoise florals and it was pure magic! It’s been a long time since I’ve seen turquoise on a wedding day and since it’s one of my fave colors I was hands down here for it! Can I also take a second to say, couldn’t Halle and her ladies all be on the cover of a bridal magazine or something? GORGEOUS! Isaac and his gentlemen held there own as well! Their dark grey suits where the perfect contrast to blue hue of the girls. Then it was time for the newlyweds to shine! On the steps of the IL State Capitol we began capturing some of the first photos of this wonderful couple. The word smitten easily comes to mind when I see these two look at one another. The way Halle just kind of sinks into Isaac’s shoulder shows me he is her safe space. And he does anything and everything to make sure she’s taken care of. Even at their engagement session, he was lifting her up and carrying her places so she didn’t have to walk in her heels! What a gentleman! The love they have is deep and meaningful. I’m so grateful I could capture it.
Their reception was held at The Crowne Plaza in Springfield, Illinois. The ballroom was grand and elegant with turquoise pops of muslin, greenery, and candle light. Touches of gold as well as bits of fun were spread throughout the room such as light up glasses, rings, and a photo booth. The couple shared their first dance and Isaac danced with his mother. They were toasted by their siblings in sweet and thoughtful ways. Plus, Halle’s mom spoke about their relationship and how proud she was of both of them. Then the dance floor was open and the party kicked into high gear! And what a party it was! It was a blast from start to finish and an awesome way to finish off an enchanting day for Halle and Isaac! Congrats to The Warrens!
