I am a wedding and portrait photographer who keeps things light, fun, and full of energy. I’m based out of Springfield, Illinois however I love traveling all over the midwest and beyond.

I met up with Lisa and Greg for their engagement session on a beautiful fall evening on the steps of the Illinois State Capitol. Lisa loved the idea of incorporating amazing architecture into their photos so this of course was a great place to start. I’ve known Lisa for years now, photographing her and her handsome son, Landon. And meeting Greg when they started dating was very fun to see them all together over the last couple of years. Apparently, they knew each other back in high school, but the timing was never right in life until now. Lisa and Greg don’t take life too seriously so there are lots of laughs when they are together. They are a roll with it kinda couple and that’s what I love about them so much! When Lisa reached out to me about wedding photos, she and Greg were expecting their little girl, Madeline, who is now one! They are planning a lovely spring wedding next year and I’m thrilled to be a part of it!
For their engagement session, Lisa and Greg had a few stops in mind other than the State Capitol. After we wandered around the capitol grounds with Lisa looking gorgeous in a pink dress with a few shimmering touches and Greg looking fancy in a navy suit, we headed over to a spot where they made their mark before they got engaged. In an alleyway outside of one of their favorite watering holes, J.P. Kelly’s, there is a heart mural where couples write their names to show off their love. Once we snagged a few photos there, we then made our way over to the Govenor’s Mansion for some fun with Lisa and Greg with the wrought iron fence and historic lamp posts. Greg is always looking out for Lisa, holding her hand as they walked to the next spot or making sure she safely makes it up the stairs. He even opens and closes the car door for her. Chivalry is not dead, people! We finished up together, at Washington Park to capture these two as the foliage was in the beginning stages of change. The light was glowy and Lisa and Greg dressed a bit more casual, but still took plenty of opportunities to snuggle in tight. I loved capturing this delightful couple before their nuptials next year! This is definitely one I’m super excited about!
Warm Regards,
