Shannon and Brett’s wedding day was the perfect example of a classic winter wedding with so much fun mixed in! These two are incredibly laid back and full of positive energy. Their December day in Jacksonville, Illinois brought together so many of their loved ones at the Morgan County Fairgrounds right before the holidays and you can tell Shannon and Brett couldn’t have been happier to not only see their family and friends but also marry their best friend all in one day. Shannon looked absolutely stunning in her beautiful gown! The front was a simple silhouette of satin, but the back was where all the glamour happened! The lace illusion open back was GORGEOUS! Brett couldn’t let his bride out do him too much and looked very dapper in his stylish black suit, red tie and pocket square. Both the bride and groom added a little holiday magic with florals of red, evergreen touches, and pine cones. Before the ceremony Shannon and Brett decided to share a first look and it absolutely didn’t disappoint. As soon as Brett saw his bride the tears started. These two together is truly right for one another! I loved being part of this special moment for this amazing couple.
We snuck in some couple and bridal party photos before the ceremony began. And let me tell you, Shannon and Brett’s crew was awesome! The bridal party was a mixture of family and friends including Brett’s triplet niece and nephews. The ladies were in red and brought their elegant bouquets of evergreen sprays, red and white roses, and pine cones. While the guys were in matching black suits with red ties, and white florals. Talk about a good looking group! I stole a few more extra minutes with the soon-to-be newlyweds in front of the church before the ceremony, which was totally fine with me. The catholic ceremony brought many hymns, the exchange of rings, and heartfelt vows. Surrounded by their loved ones Shannon and Brett committed their lives to one another and became husband and wife! They sealed it all with a kiss before they made their way out the church to Brett’s pride and joy…His truck! He said he asked for ONE thing on his wedding day (other than to marry his best friend obviously) and that was to drive off in his yellow truck that he’s had since high school! Shannon being the amazing woman she is couldn’t deny him this request! So he burned out the tires on their way out to make it an extra special moment!
We then headed over to a local park in Jacksonville that was screaming winter backdrop perfection! With a tall grouping of trees bunched together it made for an ideal spot for this beautiful married couple! I think the new Mr. & Mr. Langley took in every second of this alone time and made the most of it. Then it was on to bridal party photos in front of a misty winter lake. Although the sun didn’t make an appearance, nothing could bother the bride and groom and their besties. So many laughs were had and we cruised through photos in no time. Before heading over to the reception I made sure to grab a few more photos with Shannon and Brett and even captured a few with Brett’s beloved truck.
The reception at the the Morgan County Fairgrounds had a holiday warmth that was unmatched. Complete with a Christmas tree draped in wooden ornaments which doubled as guest favors, a lovely cake topped with a motorcycling couple reminiscent of Shannon and Brett’s engagement session, and handmade photo backdrop showing off the bride and groom’s parent’s as well as grandparent’s wedding photos and wedding invitations. So meaningful! The newlyweds shared their first dance, took a spin around the dance floor with Shannon and her dad followed by Brett and his mom, listened to sweet toasts, and then they got the party started. The floor was full throughout the evening which was the best way to end the newlywed’s big day! Being a part of this wonderful couple’s wedding day was so incredible! Cheers to The Langleys!
