Meg and Clark’s late fall wedding in Morrisonville, Illinois was an incredible day of love, laughter, and beauty! Although the weather made for a chilly day, nothing could stop these two from having a good time with their loved ones as they tied the knot! The day started out with Meg and her ladies at the salon where they each were getting glammed up. This bride was all smiles and so exciting her and Clark’s day had finally arrived. And when I saw Meg step into her gown she was truly a vision! From the lovely lace floral touches, to the delicate ribbon waist, to the sheer sleeves Meg was absolutely stunning! And to top her look off, Meg wore her sister’s gorgeous cathedral length veil. Boy were we going to have fun with that!
Clark and his guys were also dressed to impress. All were in black suits, Clark in an all white vest and tie and the groomsmen with burgundy accessories. Meg and Clark decided to do a first look before their ceremony, which was so sweet. They braved the cold out in front of the church to see one another for the first time. Their smiles couldn’t be wiped off their faces if you tried! Now on to portrait time!
Meg and Clark were joined by their bridal party, who brought the fun despite the cold temps. The bridesmaids were in burgundy and draped with a black fur stole, while Meg had her own white fur to keep her warm. There were nothing but laughs throughout photo time with this crew. Clark had been in a wedding I photograph a couple years ago (Kim’s wedding, who was a beautiful bridesmaid on this day). And many of the groomsmen I recognized from Kim and Logan’s wedding as well as another LWP Couple, Erin and Jake, who made their appearance at the reception. I love getting to see past couples of mine at other weddings! After the bridal party photos were done it was time for Meg and Clark’s portraits. I know they were freezing, but this sweet couple were troopers and pushed through to get amazing photos under the one tree outside of the church that still had some fall colors! Then before we knew it the ceremony time was upon us.
The Catholic ceremony had many faithful readings, music, and a meaningful homily from the priest who also married Clark’s parents 30 years (if I remember correctly). What a special connection! Meg and Clark exchanged rings, vows, and made it all official with a kiss! Congrats to the new Mr. & Mrs. Johnson! Before taking off the the reception hall, which was literally right down the street, the newlyweds allowed me a few more photos outside to capture that “Newly Married” look! And during this time we even had a few snow flurries floating around! Clark did say he wanted snow on their big day! He got his wish…Kinda!
The reception hall was decorated beautifully with gold accents, burgundy and white flowers, and mesmerizing twinkle lights! They even had delightful greenery floating over the dance floor! Quite magical if you ask me! The couple was toasted, shared dances, and mingled with all of their guests. Then it was party time! The floor stayed packed for the night in celebration of this amazing couple! Cheers for many blessing to the new Mr. & Mrs. Johnson!
