Summing up Lindsay and Matt’s summer wedding at Paul’s Paradise in Pleasant Plains, Illinois was actually hard to do. The reason? There are simply too many words to describe their incredible day to fit into one blog post! Energetic, emotional, dance party, phenomenal, hilarious, sweet, fun-filled, meaningful, and seriously all the other words to say it was amazing! Lindsay and Matt, from the beginning, said they wanted to be surrounded by all of their favorite people and throw the best party. Well I would say they accomplished that goal and then some! Lindsay was absolutely stunning when she stepped into her beaded bodice dress with flowing skirt. Her ladies were in dusty blue dresses in various styles and each eager to help make their sister and friend have the best day. When Matt arrived for their first look he was already cracking the jokes and setting the fun tone for the day. Yet, he was almost speechless when he saw Lindsay in her dress for the first time! The two of them actually kept kissing so much I had to break it up to start photos! Kidding aside, they were so seamless together in each other’s arms and ready to bring the fun!
Bridal Party photos was a total experience. We had music going, laughing between the girls and the guys made the energy high and although it was hot outside this crew wasn’t going to stop enjoying the day! They were all up for anything, including a surprise of confetti cannons brought to you by their fantastic videographer, Lydia Stuemke! What a blast, right?! Even when it was portrait time for just Lindsay and Matt the happiness and joy exuding from them was palpable. This beautiful couple was taking in every second of their special day, especially when it was just the two of them snuggling up close.
The time came for Lindsay and Matt to make it official. Lindsay made her way up the aisle with her dad and Matt couldn’t take his eyes off of her. I love when I get a front row seat for these lovely moments! The ceremony was short and sweet as the bride had requested so she wouldn’t break down and start crying (which she may or may not have done earlier reading a letter her groom wrote). They exchanged rings, spoke their vows, and sealed it with a kiss! They were officially pronounced husband and wife! YAY! After family photos, the newlyweds gave me a few more minutes for photos to celebrate the new Mr. & Mrs. Vespa!
Lindsay and Matt’s reception was honestly 100% stellar! I kept hearing how big of a party it was going to be and how family was going to be out on the dance floor all night. All things I’ve heard before only to see more mingling than dancing. Ummmm…Between the bride and groom dancing to an upbeat song filled with twirls and dips, Lindsay and her dad taking a turn dancing to “Cheeseburger in Paradise”, Matt and his mom breaking out from a traditional mother/son dance to a choreographed “Ice Ice Baby” routine, and the dance floor literally being filled ALL NIGHT…I wasn’t disappointed! Every second of their reception was a full on party with the bride and groom right in the middle of it all! I almost thought I wasn’t going to be able to coax them off of the dance floor to go outside for sunset photos! But, after I promised to only have them out there for 10 minutes they agreed. And really just moved the dance party outside! In between photos, Lindsay and Matt decided to have a dance battle and judging by the moves that both of them were pulling out, I’m calling it a tie!
Lindsay and Matt were an absolute pleasure to work with from start to finish! They are a perfect match and I’m thrilled for their new chapter in life and marriage! Cheers to The Vespas!
