I am a wedding and portrait photographer who keeps things light, fun, and full of energy. I’m based out of Springfield, Illinois however I love traveling all over the midwest and beyond.
inquire about your session!
Maddie was a ball of light and energy from the moment I met her downtown in Springfield, Illinois for her high school senior session! This Chatham Glenwood High School Class of 2019 senior definitely has a sweet soul! And style! We decided to start her session by showing her style off in a local alleyway, which incorporated beautiful floral artwork. Maddie in her black romper and bright jeweled blue necklace stood out easily with her bright smile in the alley. She has been a dancer since she was a little girl with ballet and many tap classes and Maddie wanted to include this in her session. So we had some fun with her tap shoes to make sure this big part of her life was highlighted. Maddie is still dancing as a part of the Glenwood Titan Poms Squad and in the show choir, Titan Fever. She is obviously a very talented young lady who likes to keep herself busy and moving in her final year of high school. After the alley and a quick outfit change, we headed down the street to the Old Union Train Station. We had a gorgeous evening and Maddie’s natural beauty and fun personality were captured easily!
We then went to Gietl Brothers where Maddie showed a bit of her tougher side in her pom’s jersey and converse high tops against the brick and ivy of the building. I loved how Maddie’s jersey number was her graduating class number! And even though her #1 fan her mom, Carrie, was there to cheer her on, Maddie showed some pretty amazing smiles when another one of her fans (cue the random lady shouting positive affirmations) walked by! It was pretty funny as this lady kept yelling at Maddie, “Go Get It Girl!” or “Oh Yeah Looking Good!” Maddie’s smiles and giggles were huge and we all had a good laugh about the whole thing! We finished up at the Botanical Gardens in Washington Park right before sunset. Maddie wore a lovely lavender dress, which showed off her sweet side in front of the flowers of the garden. Not only did I get to photograph Maddie, but I learned of her future plans after high school. She hasn’t made a final decision on what college she wants to attend yet, but she is hoping to follow a dream she has had since she was around 7 years old. She wants to become a lawyer. She has even been attending courtroom proceedings lately to see how everything works and help with the big decisions she has to make going forward. Smart and beautiful! I had a blast with Maddie for her senior session and I wish her the absolute best in her senior year at Glenwood!
Warm Regards,
Lauren
