Christi and Tyler wrote beautiful letter to one another on their wedding day. And as both of them separately read aloud the words their future spouse wrote to them, they almost mirrored what the other said. Talking about how they met out one night, spotting each other and knowing almost instantly this was a person they wanted to meet. How if Tyler felt he had any character flaws, Christi was the first person to step up and balance those out. And Christi talking about how Tyler supports her as they walk together in their relationship. As a fly on the wall listening to this beautiful couple, individually reading their letters on their big day it really was amazing how much they aligned! That really says something special about their union.
Christi and Tyler planned their mid-September wedding with thoughts of cool breezes, possibly some autumn leaf color change, and subtle fall themes throughout their day using lovely colors of burgundy, navy, champagne, and white. And although their style was absolutely on point…The weather was a different story. Thank Goodness they had sunny skies and no chances of rain during their day. But, my word, the summer was holding on tight with temperatures close to 90 degrees! Yet, with Christi’s bubbly personality and Tyler being an absolute trooper in his navy suit, this pair wouldn’t let anything get them down. After each got ready in the morning, we met up before their ceremony, which was to be held at Poe’s on the Hill in Sherman, Illinois, at local Carpenter Park, which was only a few minutes down the road from where their day would be held. Christi and Tyler wanted to have a first look and share a few moments alone before the whirlwind of their wedding day kicked off! When I say Tyler was in for a treat, I mean Christi was a vision in her stunning gown! Ivory with a rose floral design and a hint of sparkle to add some beautiful drama to the bride’s look. Christi definitely has a delightful sense of fashion and is not afraid to run with it! Everything about her choices were flawless throughout the day! Tyler couldn’t be shown up too much and the groom looked very dapper in his navy blue suit and burgundy tie. When you put these two together they no only made the perfect couple outside, but inside too with hearts of gold! We took some time for photos with their good looking bridal party and the soon-to-be Mr. & Mrs. Watson at the park. Then it was time to head over to Poe’s to get ready for the ceremony.
The ceremony was set up overlooking a beautiful pond, under a wonderful pergola draped with white linen and an abundance of florals! And before the bride walked down the aisle she was shielded by an antique door so she could make her entrance to the outdoor ceremony. The officiant said many beautiful words about the couple and the union they were now entering into. Christi and Tyler said lovely vows to each other and took three pieces of rope representing the two of them and God and braided them together finished off with a knot to show how they want their marriage to be held together. So sweet! Then they exchanged rings and sealed it all with a kiss! They were finally pronounced husband and wife!
The reception space at Poe’s was gorgeous with tall pillars holding string lights over the dance floor, a sweetheart table for the bride and groom with a stunning couch and wooden hexagon arbor, and white pumpkins plus gold accents sprinkled throughout the room made for a very elegant event. It’s was absolutely beautiful! Then after dinner, I stole the couple for a few moments as the sun was setting for a few more photos to celebrate their new marriage! These might be some of my favorites! There were so many laughs had with Christi and Tyler and you could feel the unwavering love these two share. They took full advantage of this opportunity to snuggle and giggle with one another and look back at their amazing day! But, before the party could really get started and once we returned back to the reception, Christi had a surprise for her new husband! She reemerged with an entirely different dress on and was ready to kick off the celebration! Tyler was so surprised and immediately took Christi onto the dance floor and gave her a few twirls!
Christi and Tyler were an absolute pleasure to get to know as a couple and I’m forever grateful to them for allowing me to capture all their beautiful moments on their wedding day! Cheers to Mr. & Mrs. Watson!
