I FINALLY had the opportunity to meet April and Jarod for their engagement photos in Jacksonville, IL! Yet, I feel like I’ve known them forever! I began talking with April about her big day in January 2021 as they were planning their summer wedding in 2022. After talking with them by phone (due to Covid restrictions) I knew immediately they were 100% an LWP Couple! And turns out they are really good friends with one of my other amazing LWP Couples, Jenny & Nathan Ring! The Rings even helped in the planning and executing Jarod’s proposal to April!! He surprised her by saying he needed to “run by” the farm before heading to a party and while she waited in the car the barn doors opened up and there he was down on one knee with a ring in his hand! So incredible!

So it only made sense to return to the farm for their engagement photos! However, not before we started photos where their marriage will begin next year and that’s in front of Annie Merner Chapel is Jacksonville. April and Jarod will say their “I Dos” at this beautiful chapel and I can’t wait to capture it all! We got to know more about each other as we found all the fun spots in front of the white doors, tall steeple, and even found a few berry trees. Jarod knows exactly how to get April’s best giggles out and I loved catching them all! I realized while going through their photos afterwards how much these two were truly laughing along side of each other! So cute!

We finally headed out of town to The Stock Family Farm. Our first session date unfortunately rained out. So we were crossing our fingers we would get a beautiful sunny day. Sadly some clouds rolled in right before we were scheduled to start yet, the sun peeked out a few times for us as we wandered the property so we were taking full advantage when it happened. Oh and did I mention my lovely friend and amazing videographer, Lydia Stuemke, was there as well filming April and Jarod’s engagement session? We will be working together on their wedding day too, which makes me even more excited to create beautiful art for this wonderful couple! I had such a blast with April and Jarod and I’m looking forward to capturing all of their special moments on their wedding day! And probably recreating some of the ones we took in front of their chapel!
