Patience. Patience is something that not a lot of people have. Especially these days of an “instant gratification” culture. However, marriage isn’t just one day. It’s not, “Ok we got our Instagram photos and we are done”. Marriage goes way beyond the actual wedding day. It’s a lifelong commitment to another person. It’s saying “YES” to sharing the chores, dealing with money as a couple, making big decisions, making small decisions, maybe one day having kids and figuring out how the heck do we make them stop crying. Marriage is so much more than one day and realizing patience is a HUGE part of this commitment will carry you far. Sydney and Caleb completely understood this concept as a global pandemic forced them to make an unthinkable decision on whether to downsize their wedding day in July of 2020 or push it back a year and pray the world was in a better place. They decided to have patience.
Fast forward to July 2021, and on a typical hot and humid summer day, Sydney and Caleb became husband and wife! Their nuptials took place at the gorgeous and super fun Loveland Estates in Pocahontas, Illinois, where the couple got ready leading up to their first look. Both Sydney and Caleb were nervous about seeing one another (Caleb, I was told by the bride weeks before, would be nervous all day) yet the bride and the groom kept themselves composed pretty well! Sydney was absolutely stunning in her mermaid style lace gown with a lovely lace train! Her ladies all wore blush pink with a variety of different styles. While Caleb and the boys donned navy suits with matching ties and Caleb sported a white one. The whole crew looked incredibly polished and chic. For Sydney and Caleb’s first look we found a quite spot outside of the venue where outdoor ceremonies can take place. It gave a beautiful backdrop for this couple to set eyes on each other for the first time. The smile on Caleb’s face was priceless as he turned to see his bride. Caleb is a man of few words, however he didn’t need any words with the look of pure joy on his face seeing his soon to be wife!
We brought the entire bridal party outside to join the couple for some photos and boy, does Loveland have so many phenomenal options for backgrounds! I could have shot here all day! Between the ivy covered open-air greenhouse style structures, boho inspired swings, and even a funky horse trailer turned bar cart there were endless spots for photos of the couple and their bridal party! Before sending the couple back inside for the ceremony we grabbed just a few more photos of these two along the tree lined lane that brings you into Loveland. And the day wouldn’t be complete without a few photos of Sydney and Caleb with their furbaby and ring bearer, Sully! This little guy was by mom’s feet all morning as she got glammed up and he was so sweet! He looked much different with a haircut than from their engagement session back in the fall of 2019.
It was finally time for their ceremony and it was such a beautiful one! The room was filled with many friends and family as Caleb fought back a few tears as Sydney made her way down the aisle with her dad. The moment was one of my favorites from the day. After saying their vows, exchanging rings, and sharing their first kiss these two were pronounced husband and wife! They were now officially Mr. & Mrs. Randle! After the ceremony we headed back to Litchfield and right down the street from their reception venue we stopped at a local park for a few more photos of the newlyweds! And these are definitely some of my faves! Sydney exchanged her shorter veil for a long cathedral length one and my goodness the wind loved it! We then headed to their reception where the head table was set up with the backdrop of an amazing wooden herringbone patterned door. Come to find out, Caleb actually MADE this door for Sydney specifically for the wedding! WOW! And after a few formal events throughout the reception, I snuck the couple outside for some pretty amazing sunset photos! Sydney and Caleb took in every second of time they had with just the two of them as the sun was dropping below the horizon on their most special day!
Although it took an extra year to make their big day happen I would say Sydney and Caleb’s patience was well worth it! Congrats to the new Mr. & Mrs. Randle! May you have many blessings in your long and happy marriage!
Warm Regards,
