I knew going into Baylee and Brock’s wedding day it was going to be fun, beautiful, and very laid back. After their engagement photos down in their beloved second city of St. Louis, where we had an absolute blast, I imagined their big day was going to be incredible. And man, was I right! Baylee and Brock had the most gorgeous and joyful wedding at Marlene’s Barn in Metamora, Illinois! It was my first time photographing at this venue and it did not disappoint! It’s a fantastic modern barn that sits out by itself with a pavilion and pond complete with three white ducks who had an up-close view of the bride and groom’s special moments.

Both Baylee and Brock were so ready to marry their best friend and couldn’t be more excited to see one another. After I spent some time with Baylee and her ladies in the morning, she finally stepped into her simply stunning lace and tulle gown with her mother helping her every step. And I mean going through all of their photos, I’m still OBSESSED with the back of Baylee’s dress and really her entire elegant, yet whimsical look! Baylee was a vision as a bride for sure! Baylee and her dad took a moment to have a first look with one another and it was so sweet! When Brock arrived at the barn, he was holding his own and looking very dapper in his gray suit and peach bowtie. He told me he was actually a little nervous to see Baylee, as the pair decided to do a first look. We chatting as we walked to the pavilion down by the water and I tried to calm my old neighbor’s nerves. Yes, Brock and his family lived across the street from my family growing up! Fun, right?! Now I had the opportunity to capture his nuptials to his delightful new bride! Their first look was 100% precious and full of amazing emotion! Brock couldn’t stop saying how beautiful Baylee was and the pure joy knowing they were going to be husband and wife by the end of the night was a huge blessing! The couple did something following their first look which I had never seen before, but was so memorable. They took a few steps away from me for a bit of privacy and read their vows to one another. Although I couldn’t hear their words to one another, I could feel them. They laughed, they cried, and shared the biggest hug at the end. If you follow me, you know that I cry at some point during every single wedding…This was that time! So wonderful to witness, even from a distance.

We then got all of Baylee and Brock’s closest friends who were standing up next to them out on Marlene’s property for some photo time! Their crew were incredibly fun and full of energy! They were so helpful throughout the day and willing to get out in the heat to celebrate this awesome couple! Then it was time for the bride and groom’s photos and boy…are they adorable together! When I say joy was radiating from their faces, you can really see it through their portraits! These two are truly meant to be together! And then it was time for them to make it official! In a sweet late afternoon ceremony these two pledged their love in front of family and friends. With an exchange of rings and vows Baylee and Brock became Mr. & Mrs. Thornton! YAY!

Following their ceremony the couple started the party by entering their reception with Baylee being carried in Brock’s arms! Emotional and funny toasts from loved ones, trying to shove a little bit of cake into one another’s face, and sharing meaningful dances. And before the sun dropped below the horizon I snuck the newlyweds outside for some more phenomenal photos of their love! The golden light and Baylee and Brock glowing from finally tying the knot from their long engagement was magical!

I’m ridiculously humbled these two trusted me to capture their special moments and I am wishing them all the blessings in the world for a happy and healthy marriage! Congrats Mr. & Mrs. Thornton!
