I am a wedding and portrait photographer who keeps things light, fun, and full of energy. I’m based out of Springfield, Illinois however I love traveling all over the midwest and beyond.

There’s something about a late-fall wedding in the Midwest that just feels extra romantic. The air has that crisp edge to it, the trees are holding onto the last of their color, and the sky can’t quite decide between soft gray clouds and warm bursts of sunshine. Haley & Jake’s day at Lakeview Weddings in Camp Point, Illinois had exactly that kind of magic — cozy, emotional, and just a tiny bit dramatic in the best way. A little overcast, a little glow, and just enough unpredictability to keep things interesting.
Haley spent the morning in the bridal suite surrounded by her big, excited crew. It was the kind of morning that’s full of laughter, music, and happy chaos. Her sister and mom helped her into her dress (cue the emotions), and she shared the sweetest first look with her bridesmaids. So many mouth-drop reactions. So much joy. Jake and his crew, including his sister standing by his side, got ready on-site too — joking around, straightening ties, soaking it all in.
Haley then shared a first look with her dad under the willow tree. She read him a heartfelt letter and gifted him a tie with a photo from their trip to Machu Picchu, Peru. A priceless moment, for sure. Next came one of my favorite moments of the entire day. Haley & Jake’s turn for their first look, where they chose to read private vows to each other. It was quiet. It was emotional. And there truly was not a dry eye anywhere nearby. Including me. I fully admit it.
We grabbed some outdoor bridal party photos before a few raindrops sent us inside for portraits in the chapel. Honestly? The soft light was gorgeous. And thankfully the rain cleared long enough for us to sneak back outside for more photos before the ceremony. Haley and Jake have this easy love with one another. Yet, their love is deep, compassionate, and enduring. And the pure joy they share just being in one another’s arms made every second of their day a special one.
Their ceremony felt intimate and so full of meaning. Surrounded by their people, Haley & Jake exchanged vows grounded in faith and so much excitement for what’s ahead. When they sealed it with a kiss, the room just lit up. We even caught a hazy little sunset moment outside before another sprinkle hurried us back in.
And then the party started.
They kicked off the reception with a champagne tower pour (always a crowd favorite), cut their cake, and listened to incredible toasts from Haley’s dad, her sister/Maid of Honor, and Jake’s sister. There were laughs, tears, and a few stories that will definitely live on for years. Their first dance over the black and white checkered floor felt straight out of a movie. Haley’s dance with her dad? So tender. Jake spinning his mom around? Pure joy.
And once the dance floor opened up… it was game over. Glow sticks. Fake mustaches. Full-on party energy. Add in late-night pizza and a s’mores bar and you’ve basically created the perfect recipe for an unforgettable night.
Such a sweet, joy-filled way to celebrate the new Mr. & Mrs. Moscinski. Some wedding days just have that feeling — and this was absolutely one of them.
