There’s just something about the first weekend of October that feels extra special—cooler air, golden light, and that quiet excitement that fall brings. Zelinda & Tyler’s wedding day fit that feeling perfectly. The morning started at The Bridal Lofts of Springfield, where Zelinda spent time getting ready with her girls, soaking in every moment. All of her bridesmaids wore classic black dresses, which gave everything such a timeless, elevated feel. And Zelinda? Absolutely glowing. From the moment she stepped into her gown, there was no doubt she was about to have one of those days.
Before heading to the ceremony, we made a stop at Lincoln Park for first looks—and wow, these moments did not disappoint. Zelinda shared a sweet first look with her dad that instantly set the tone for the day. Then came Tyler. He arrived clearly nervous (totally understandable!), but the second he saw Zelinda, everything changed. His emotions took over in the best way, and you could literally see his nerves melt away. It was one of those quiet, heartfelt moments that sticks with you long after the day is over.
From there, we jumped into bridal party photos, and this group brought the energy. So much laughter, so many big smiles—exactly the kind of crew you want by your side on a wedding day. Once we wrapped those, Zelinda & Tyler took a little time for photos of just the two of them. These two are simply meant to be together, and it shows so naturally when they’re side by side.
Their ceremony took place at The Abbey at Ursuline Academy, surrounded by their closest family and friends. The space felt intimate and meaningful, which made their short and sweet ceremony even more special. After exchanging rings, they sealed it with a kiss—and just like that, they were officially married!
The celebration continued at the Firefighters & Postal Club, where the night was packed with unforgettable moments. Zelinda’s mom, the maid of honor, and the best man gave heartfelt toasts that had everyone laughing and tearing up. Their first dance was beautiful—and then came the surprise. Halfway through, Zelinda & Tyler invited their parents onto the dance floor, which turned into one of the sweetest moments of the night. Zelinda later danced with her dad and even pulled her brother in, followed by Tyler sharing a special dance with his mom. However, one of the delightful gestures I’ve seen from a couple on their wedding day towards their guest came when Zelinda and Tyler served their guests cake, which gave them a quick moment to “Thank” them for coming.
As the sun dipped, we snuck out for sunset photos—hands down one of my favorite parts of the day. After that, the dance floor stayed full all night long, ending the day exactly how it should: full of joy, love, and one heck of a party.
