The end of October showed up in the best way for Grace & Justin’s wedding day — overcast skies, that cozy fall light, and the kind of temperature where you can be outside comfortably without freezing or sweating. Honestly, it was perfect. Grace spent her morning getting ready at The Bressmer in downtown Springfield, and the whole vibe was calm, happy, and full of sweet anticipation. Her sister and mom helped with makeup and getting her into her gown, which always makes those moments feel extra special. There’s just something about having your people right there with you.
Justin arrived later that morning for their first look, and they met in one of the beautiful rooms inside the mansion. It was quiet and intimate — just the two of them reading private vows to each other. No audience. No pressure. Just real, heartfelt words. (I may or may not have been tearing up behind my camera.) Afterward, we wandered through a few of the spaces for portraits before heading outside for more photos. Their bridal party was small and meaningful — Grace’s sister and Justin’s best friend — which kept everything relaxed and personal. And the way Justin looks at Grace? Straight out of a romance movie. Completely locked in. We grabbed some portraits out front, and the classic architecture made such a timeless backdrop for these two.
Their ceremony at Venue 1929 was intimate and full of love, surrounded by family and close friends. Grace’s brother officiated, which made it even more personal. The ceremony was short, sweet, and heartfelt, with Justin getting emotional as Grace made her way down the aisle with her dad. Rings exchanged, promises made, and a kiss to seal the deal. Husband and wife! Before it got dark, I stole them away for a few quiet portraits under the most gorgeous orange fall tree. The colors were unreal, and these two together? Simply adorable. You can just feel how happy they are.
The reception was such a fun mix of meaningful and lively. They cut their cake, shared their first dance under the chandelier, and then Grace had the sweetest dance with her dad. Justin spun his mom around the dance floor with the biggest smile on his face. Later in the evening, they made their way outside with their guests, grabbing some light sticks for a tunnel, before the dance floor officially took off. And once it did, it stayed full the rest of the night.
Grace & Justin’s day felt intentional, joyful, and completely them. The kind of wedding that reminds you it doesn’t have to be over-the-top to be unforgettable. Just two people, wildly in love, finally getting to call each other husband and wife.
