Kelly and Nate’s August wedding day was one of those picture-perfect summer days—bright, warm, and full of that easygoing Midwest sunshine. Kelly and Nate grew up in the Springfield area, but now currently live in San Diego, California. So Paul’s Paradise in Pleasant Plains was the sweetest spot for their celebration. It has this laid-back, countryside charm that instantly makes you feel relaxed and ready to enjoy the day. From the quiet outdoor spaces to the cozy, welcoming vibe, it set the scene beautifully without trying too hard for their loved ones from all over the country.

Before the party kicked off, we made our way to the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Springfield for their ceremony, and wow… if you’ve ever seen that space, you know it’s incredible. But the moment that truly made the day memorable for me was Nate seeing Kelly for their emotional first look. Nate was in his full Navy dress whites, looking sharp and completely ready to see his bride. His emotions immediate got the best of him when seeing Kelly, which made the whole moment even more meaningful. Their ceremony included so many highlights of their faith, love, and honor for one another. After their full Catholic mass, the traditional Navy Arch of Swords took place right on the cathedral steps with Nate’s groomsmen in their matching Navy uniforms, —and yes, it was as amazing as it sounds!

Then it was back to Paul’s Paradise for bridal party photos, and let’s just say… this crew did not hold back. They brought all the hype, all the laughter, and all the chaotic-good energy that makes wedding days so much fun. Once we finished wrangling them together, it was time for Kelly and Nate to have their moment in front of the camera. Let’s just say these two could be on the cover of a magazine! Yet, they are unbelievably humble, sweet, and downright in love. We had the best time capturing the newlyweds! And they even had a special guest appearance… their big pup Hobbs (in his tux of course) and he completely stole the show.

The reception was just pure joy from start to finish. Kelly and Nate kicked things off with the most beautifully choreographed first dance, followed by Kelly and her dad surprising everyone with an epic breakout routine full of high-energy moves. After that, the dance floor basically exploded and stayed packed all night long. The grand finale? A surprise fireworks show that lit up the sky and had everyone cheering.
