Meeting up with Zelinda and Tyler on the steps of the Illinois State Capital building was one moment I had been anticipating for a while. This lovely couple had reached out to me months in advance in regards to their October 2025 wedding to secure their date. Zelinda was in medical school and with the stressors and crazy schedule that med school life can create, this smart couple chose to have a long engagement to hopefully help alleviate and help them enjoy the journey of planning their wedding. So when we finally had the chance to meet for their engagement session, I was very excited to have these cuties in front of my camera! Zelinda looked amazing in a white, long dress with light blue floral details. While Tyler went with a classic khaki pant and a navy zip sweater to compliment his fiancé, looking pretty dapper himself. We had a gorgeous evening to wander about the capital grounds and even though Zelinda and Tyler said they were a bit nervous (and excited) at the beginning of our time together, they naturally took to being in one another’s arms very quickly. I adore using movement in my work (if you have been here awhile you probably already know that)! I can feel out couples pretty early on in a session a decide if they will be game for a little more…”Outgoing” ideas for photos, if you will. Zelinda and Tyler were definitely one of those couples who were up for anything! Which I LOVE!

As we drew closer to sunset, we headed out to a spot where the colors of fall were showing off! The oranges and yellows leaves were bright and after a quick change into a more relaxed look for the duo, we were ready to finish off their e-session with a bunch of fun! Both Zelinda and Tyler wore comfortable jeans with Zelinda in a timeless black sweater and Tyler in red and black plaid. Such a great autumn vibe! I gave this sweet pair so many chances to snuggle in close and they took every opportunity to breathe in the moment. And in the best possible way to contrast the quiet moments, were the ones filled with laughter and joy throughout our beautiful time at sunset! I loved every second with Zelinda and Tyler and I know their October wedding will be one to remember!
