I met up with Maggie and Keenan for their engagement session this past summer where it all began for them…The Illinois State Capitol. The pair both worked in the building, and still continue to work in (or around) the capitol and so this space means a lot to their relationship. They were dressed to impress with Maggie looking incredible in an adorable short red dress. While Keenan was in a tan linen suit and crisp white button down shirt. We began photos on the grand staircase and eased our way into getting to know each other. It was clear pretty quickly these two were deeply in love, don’t take life too seriously, and Keenan makes it a point to keep his fiancé laughing. We wandered the gorgeous marble hallways of the first floor for awhile, then we made our way upstairs, where we played for a few photos of these cuties on the formal staircase. They laughed and joked with one another as Keenan twirled and lead Maggie up and down the landing of the stairs more than a couple of times just so I could get the “Perfect Shot!” They told stories to me about different places they met or whereabouts Keenan usually found himself “Leaning” throughout the capitol so we incorporated a few leans just for him in photos! We had a blast roaming about the beautiful building. 

We then headed off to finish our time together out at Lincoln Memorial Gardens. Although it was a lovely summer evening, it happened to be one of the hottest on record! It was toasty! But, Maggie and Keenan were troopers and pushed on simply enjoying their time together. They looked amazing as Maggie wore a green gingham plaid dress and Keenan donned a sage button down shirt and khakis. It fit the natural landscape perfectly. The two of them on the tree lined road are some of my favorites as they seemed so relaxed in each other’s arms. As we strolled around the gardens, they shared with me all about Keenan’s proposal in Nice, France as they were taking in some stunning views of the city. As the sun was setting back in Illinois, this duo ended their session with just as much energy as they started! I adored my time with Maggie and Keenan and cannot wait to be a part of their fall wedding next year!
