I am a wedding and portrait photographer who keeps things light, fun, and full of energy. I’m based out of Springfield, Illinois however I love traveling all over the midwest and beyond.
inquire about your session!
I met up with Mikaela and Scott on a lovely fall evening in downtown Springfield, Illinois on the steps of the Illinois State Capitol building for their engagement session. These two had expressed being a little nervous, but excited about having photos taken together. Mikaela was sparkling in a beautiful white short sequins dress with bell sleeves. While Scott was looking dashing in his dress navy pants, light blue button down shirt, tan cowboy boots, and a shiny big belt buckle. Within just a few minutes this pair eased right into being comfortable in front of my lens and were laughing and snuggling in close like I wasn’t even there! Walking between spots, Scott told me how he proposed when they were out together looking for deer antlers. These two love nature, being outside in the wilderness, hunting and fishing. He popped the ring on a prepped antler on the ground and the first go around, Mikaela didn’t even see the ring (or the antler for that matter). But, when she finally did catch a glimpse, there was Scott asking her to be his wife. So sweet!
The golden glow of the sun was peeking in around the capitol and it made for some delightful moments for Mikaela and Scott as we found many dramatic backdrops! From the tall green windows of the Howlett Building to an overlook with the capitol dome behind them, Mikaela and Scott looked amazing at every angle! I couldn’t be more excited to capture their wedding day coming up at the end of November this year!
Warm Regards,
