I had the pleasure of meeting Carmen and Casey out at her family’s farm in Ashland, Illinois on a gorgeous summer evening for their engagement photos. There was absolutely no question when we began talking about their photos where they would be taken. This farm holds a special place in both of their hearts, but especially for Carmen as it’s where she grew up. But, since she and Casey have begun their relationship, she has shared the property with him and he has learned all the magical spots throughout this beautiful farm. We started by the pond with the horse barn in the background and quickly the two beloved horses became part of the photoshoot. We then jumped into the side by side to head further out to a lovely spot with a fallen tree where the sun was perfectly coming through the trees. Carmen and Casey’s purple outfits were popping off the background and looking amazing. It was the perfect choice for the abundance of green surrounding them. We took one more ride down to another one of their favorite spots, which was a little creek with water serenely running through the cow pasture. Casey even commented how he wished I did video to capture how calming the sound of the creek was! I agreed, it was stunning!
This cute duo did a quick change and we headed over to another wonderful pasture just in time for sunset! The one thing I loved about Carmen and Casey was the amount of laughter they shared the entire time we took photos! They had a blast simply being in one another’s arms, which made my job so incredibly easy! There is no better way to show off a couple who loves to laugh with each other than with a ton of movement. So that’s what we did towards the end of their session especially. But, before the sun dropped below the horizon, we had a few extra visitors grace us with their presence. The herd of cows came by for their close ups and even though they wouldn’t let us get too close allowed a few photo ops as the sun set. Carmen and Casey finished up with a few twirls and dips, as any engagement session should end, and to say I was thrilled with my time with them would be an understatement! I cannot wait to be part of their day next spring!
Warm Regards,
