Arriving at the gorgeous Three Pines Mansion in Petersburg, Illinois I was extremely excited to finally meet Alicia and Nicholas! This sweet couple lives north of Peoria and happened upon this lovely venue and knew it was exactly what they were looking for to host their family and friends for their intimate spring wedding. They had a total of twenty people, including the bride and groom, who were part of their big day. And because Three Pines also has many bedrooms, Alicia and Nicholas, and their loved ones, could spend more quality time over the weekend together in the mansion celebrating the nuptials of this wonderful couple.
I was welcomed immediately by everyone as I walked around beginning to photograph Alicia and Nicholas’ details, as they each started to get ready in separate floors of the mansion since they did not plan on seeing one another before the ceremony. Nicholas and his two groomsmen got ready in the parlor, donning sage green suspenders, floral green and cream ties, and Nicholas wore a navy suit jacket. Alicia was upstairs with her sister and Nicholas’ sisters as her “Glam Squad” completing her hair and makeup. These girls were having fun and reminiscing on when Alicia and Nicholas started dating. However, what stuck with me was when Alicia’s mother told me how she remembers seeing Nicholas’ mom taking him around to garage sales when he was young and him wearing his little cowboy boots. Love this! Then it came time for Alicia to get dressed and when she stepped into her gown. Let me tell you…She was an absolute vision! The lace on the bodice and train were stunning and this bride was simply beaming with that “About to get married” glow. Before the “I Dos”, Alicia wanted to see her dad for a first look. Yet before the door even opened this sweet bride needed a second to compose herself. The second her dad took a step into the room, her beloved dad broke down immediately into tears seeing his daughter in her wedding gown. It was one of the most emotional daddy/daughter first looks I’ve had the honor to witness. It’s never lost on me the privilege I have to be invited into the room during such an intimate moment for a family. And for that, I’m so grateful. Now let’s get this beautiful couple married!
The front steps of the Three Pines Mansion was the perfect backdrop for Alicia and Nicholas to say their vows. With Nicholas’ sister officiating the ceremony and surrounded by their loved ones, Alicia’s dad walked her up the aisle and met her groom at the steps. To say he was happy to see her would be an understatement. These two couldn’t take their eyes off one another. The nuptials were full of emotions and genuine love these two share with one another. They spoke their vows, exchanged rings, and sealed it all with a kiss! Introducing the new Mr. & Mrs. Toth! After some family photos, the newlyweds and their bridal party took some time to have some fun running around the enchanting grounds of Three Pines, even playing with smoke bombs! These added another dimension to Alicia and Nicholas’ photos, especially when the sun was peeking through the trees and colored smoke! So pretty! We took time around the front of the mansion and of course on that iconic staircase to show off the bride and groom and even “recreated” a photo that was framed of a bride in the mansion with Alicia before heading over to their dinner in the barn. The Toths went right into an incredible choreographed first dance with lifts, twirls, and dips which was flawless! Alicia then danced with her dad laughing and spinning around the floor. When it was my time to head out for the evening, Alicia and Nicholas were finishing up their homemade taco dinner, sipping on margaritas, and celebrating this amazing couple! Cheers to The Toths!
Warm Regards,
