I am a wedding and portrait photographer who keeps things light, fun, and full of energy. I’m based out of Springfield, Illinois however I love traveling all over the midwest and beyond.
inquire about your session!
I know, I know! You’re thinking, Lauren…It’s May and we are finally past thinking about winter! But, I had to share Samantha & Steve’s beautiful snowy engagement photos! We had a little heads up going into their session that it was supposed to snow. However, Samantha and Steve were game to move forward with the powdery white stuff on the ground and I’m so glad they were! The sun was out and even though it was pretty chilly out, the backdrop for this duo was a winter wonderland! We started downtown with bright floral mural we had chosen previous to knowing about the snowfall. I loved it though the way the spring blooms of the mural and winter snowfall juxtapose one another. And Samantha and Steve were taking a few moments warming up in front of the camera, literally and physically! We then headed right around the corner to the Horace Mann building, where their newly renovated pond area was the perfect and giving a mountain feel with the snow covered rocks for Samantha and Steve. These two brought all the fun with them, snuggling in close and laughing throughout our entire time together. Even while shivering. Some of my favorite photos came with the evergreen trees and the sun peeking through behind these two cuties as they walked and twirled around. How adorable are they?!
We finished up with some gorgeous glowy photos of Samantha and Steve out in a snow covered field as the sun set. These two were playful and giggling even though I know they were freezing! They are such a wonderful couple and I’m so happy they were willing to go for something a little out of the box! I really think they nailed it! I’m looking forward to their fall wedding this year, when hopefully it’s not as chilly!
Warm Regards,
