I am a wedding and portrait photographer who keeps things light, fun, and full of energy. I’m based out of Springfield, Illinois however I love traveling all over the midwest and beyond.
inquire about your session!
Whitney and Tommy both have a love for farm life! And when we were planning their engagement session, there was no question where we would meet for photos. They graciously invited me out to The Baker Family farm, which has been in Whitney’s family since 1883! This is also the spot where these two are planning to say, “I Do” later this year. Whitney and Tommy looked incredible all dressed up, which they said, was not necessarily their style, as they are jeans-wearing people through and through. But, they wanted to show off a more sophisticated side. Both of them work for local agriculture chemical companies and get their hands dirty when needed. Whitney’s family also has cattle so that is a huge part of their lives, on top of the farm.
We started photos down at a neighbor’s farm, however, with few barns that Whitney has always been in love with. Whitney and Tommy told me they were a little nervous, but boy did they fall right into loving on each other, which brings out such natural photos. This duo brought a great energy and were up for absolutely any crazy ideas I could come up with! We had some gorgeous glowy light and with Whitney’s beautiful pop of blue with her dress, I was obsessed with their photos five seconds into our session!
After a quick change into something more, “Them” we headed over to another lovely spot on The Baker farm with pond and field. I didn’t have to beg too much to get Whitney and Tommy to snuggle in close. You could tell they were taking advantage of all the time they could laughing, smooching, and simply sharing this time together. Whitney had one other request, which was to see if we could get photos with the cattle. She wasn’t sure if it would work since they were in a dry pasture while they were working on getting the grass to grow in some of the other areas of the farm. I said let’s give it a go! And my goodness did it work! The light was perfect, the cows were super interested (after a little food coaxing by Tommy), and these two were loving every second! I mean…Look at the baby calves!!! We finished up in the wheat fields and along the country road running in front of the farm. What an amazing time I had with Whitney and Tommy. I cannot wait to be back again on their wedding day!
Warm Regards,
