Last fall, I remember the day of Sloane and Ben’s engagement session in downtown Springfield, IL, the forecast was not looking great. Storms had rolled through earlier in the day and it was hit and miss showers leading into the afternoon right around the time I was supposed to meet up with this sweet couple. We went back and forth, but with their plans to head out of town the following day on a family vacation to the mountains, they decided to try and give it a go! Although we felt a few sprinkles when we first got out of the car, from then on this pair only had to worry about if the cuteness meter spiked over 100%! Which spoiler alert…It did!

We began their session with some urban flare in front of Geitl Bros. with all the ivy and brick we could handle. But, this duo is incredibly laid back and they were up for anything from the jump, which made our session such a joy! Sloane looked amazing in a funky colorful dress with bell sleeves and suede knee-high boots! Such a vibe! Ben’s muted brown button down shirt grounded the whole look, which I loved. The way these two just giggled together was my absolute favorite though. We incorporated a ton of movement and these two were absolutely game for it all! We had a quick outfit change as we headed over to Washington Park to finish up our time together. There were still a few late flowers out here and there around the park, but we continued to luck out and found one tree that was starting to show off some fall foliage! I’ll take it! And remember when I said the cuteness meter spiked over 100%? It’s because Sloane and Ben’s furbaby, Bruno, arrived for his close up! Once I found out we were all lovers of Golden Retrievers (as my family has a one year old golden girl) I fell even harder for with Sloane and Ben! Bruno was such a good boy and I had a blast seeing these two dote on their pup! I cannot wait to be a part of this wonderful couple’s wedding day this year!
