From the moment I met Rebecca and David at Clinton Lake for their engagement session last year, I knew their wedding day was going to be something special. These two are wildly in love, care deeply for their families and friends, and are incredibly down to earth. Rebecca’s smile has a way of engaging you right off the bat! And David takes the time to talk with you and more importantly listen to the people in his life. This adorable couple truly wears their hearts on their sleeve and I loved being a part of their gorgeous day! Rebecca and David celebrated their nuptials on David’s parent’s family farm in Clinton, Illinois. Their early November wedding day was absolutely amazing with temperatures in the 60’s making their outdoor event all the more enjoyable.
Rebecca and her besties got ready on the first level of the home which included a delightful sunroom with lots of plants and an eclectic vibe. It was perfect for Rebecca’s details as well as getting this beautiful bride dressed. The joyful and meaningful emotions of the day were palpable, especially when it was time for Rebecca to step into her gown. Stunning doesn’t even begin to describe this lovely bride in her gown! Her look was simple, yet spectacular with intricate details on the bodice and a flowing skirt. And when she added on the remarkable cathedral length veil with floral details along the edges, Rebecca was flawless! Rebecca’s mom and maid of honor/sister took in every second as they helped her get ready. I know David wanted to take no attention away from his bride, but he cleaned up pretty well himself! With an emerald green suit, black tie, and pop of color with his boutonniere the dapper level was peaking for sure. Now it was time for this groom to see his soon-to-be wife for the first time.
When David saw Rebecca standing there in her gown, he went in for a hug and melted into her arms. This was one of my favorite parts of their day as they shared their intimate and heartfelt vows to one another as a few tears were shed. Following the first look, the bridal party joined us for photo time! The ladies were dressed in various styles of black dresses while the groomsmen wore black suits with emerald green ties. Then you added in all the phenomenal colors from the florals and it was literal perfection!
Then before we knew it, it was ceremony time! The couple chose a tall walnut tree as the backdrop for their “I Do’s”. The floral wrapped tree was magnificent and a fun and laid back touch was the homemade sign down the hill reading “D Luvs Becca”. I mean, you can’t get any sweeter than that! The ceremony was officiated by David’s sister, Sarah, who fun fact…Was the MOH in another LWP Couple’s wedding, Jenna and Kaylob. They got married last year where David and Sarah’s parents officiated and spoke at The Tang’s wedding as well. It was such a full circle kind of moment for me! The nuptials were filled with sweetness, laughter, and a few tears. Rebecca and David pledged their hearts and lives to one another, exchanged rings, and sealed it with a kiss! Congrats to the new Mrs. & Mrs. Blythe!
Following the ceremony, I had some fantastic time with these adorable newlyweds for some more portraits, which included a gorgeous sunlit background and a few nosey horses. The scenic views, beautiful couple, and that VEIL made these moments ones to remember! The time then came for The Blythes to enter their reception to the roar from their guests. The reception tent was attached to the garage of the home and decorated with various vases, textures in the flowers and rich colors with gold accents. The warmth in the room was awesome! The newlyweds sat at a sweetheart table draped in flowers with an ivy statement piece behind them with a neon sign saying, “It was always you”! Rebecca and David danced their first dance along with dances with Rebecca’s dad and David and his mom. They were showered with amazing toasts from the bride’s sister, Allison, and David’s best man, Kyle. Then before the party got started, I stole the newlyweds for a few more photos at sunset! We found a lovely spot with some tall grasses and the rolling hills with the hazy sunset behind them. It was a little bit of magic seeing Rebecca and David having one more chance to breathe in a few moments alone together. I loved every second I spent with Rebecca and David and I’m wishing them continued blessings in their long and wonderful marriage.
