I am a wedding and portrait photographer who keeps things light, fun, and full of energy. I’m based out of Springfield, Illinois however I love traveling all over the midwest and beyond.

When planning Rebecca and David’s engagement session in Clinton, Illinois they originally had one spot in mind. However, since it was still springtime and tidying up new growth hadn’t happened yet so they decided to try a different location out at Clinton Lake. And my goodness was it perfect! I met up with Rebecca and David in a little place around the lake they had scouted prior to photos. Rebecca has an infectious energy, which was apparent right from the get go. You can tell simply by watching David interact with Rebecca how much he loves her. Although this was my first time officially meeting this beautiful couple in person we have been in the same room together. I photographed their friends, Jenna and Kaylob’s wedding last year where David’s dad was the officiant. Now it was Rebecca and David’s turn to show off their relationship in front of my camera.
We started down by the water on a little beach area that was so pretty. Rebecca and David are both super laid back, ready for anything, and obviously smitten with each other. They had said they were nervous before we began photos, but these two eased into it like professionals! From walking hand in hand to sharing a few smooches, these two were making my job easy. Rebecca and David had a quick outfit change and then we went to another spot with tall timbers that Rebecca said reminded her of a fairytale. I would have to agree. They popped off the background with this bride’s flirty white dress.
We made our way back up to the surrounding lake area where the light was glowy and stunning. The perfect way to end the evening with Rebecca and David. The tall grasses, that Rebecca was obsessed with, brought some whimsical to their photos with the hazy sunset behind them. I loved spending time with this lovely couple and I’m looking forward to capturing their special day later this year!
Warm Regards,
