The most popular date of the year, 10.22.22, definitely lived up to the hype for Kayla and Jon’s wedding day in Petersburg, IL! These two made sure to bring the fun and happiness to their special day and I was so honored to be a part of it all. Kayla and her ladies were in such joyful spirits when I arrived in the morning. I couldn’t have been more excited for the vibe of Kayla and Jon’s day as the burnt orange velvet bridesmaids dresses in various styles hung with Kayla’s gown. Then seeing this beautiful bride in her gown was an absolute moment! Kayla was stunning in her softly appliqué floral dress with a lovely train. Jon and his groomsmen cleaned up well in their gray suits and orange ties as Jon wore a blue and white floral tie for a little extra pizzaz for the groom. Before the ceremony, Kayla and Jon decided to have a first look and see one another before they officially tied the knot. It was a wonderful moment and they read their vows to each other at add some more emotion to this memory.
Their ceremony was filled with so much love, humor, and music which is near and dear to this couple’s heart. Kayla and her dad made their way down the aisle to her groom who couldn’t take his eyes off of her. Jon, his dad, and a family friend got up on the altar and sang two beautiful songs and played the guitar. The couple shared their vows (through a few giggles as they each had trouble remembering what the officiant said for them to repeat), exchanged rings, and sealed it all with a kiss. They were finally announced Mr. & Mrs. Carter!
We then headed out to New Salem in Petersburg where we found the most spectacular fall colors for this bridal party! Although we were dealing with some wind, the newlyweds and their crew looked incredible up against the yellow trees and perfect light! Kayla and Jon are so at ease with each other and love to enjoy snuggling up close. Capturing the new Mr. & Mrs. was such a blast! We then headed to Wankel’s in Petersburg for the reception. The burnt orange accents continued throughout the venue along with rustic wood touches and a twinkling backdrop for the head table. There were thoughtful toasts given to celebrate the couple. Kayla and Jon shared their first dance as husband and wife followed by Kayla dancing with her dad and Jon dancing with his mom. And before the sun dropped below the horizon, I took this sweet couple out for Kayla’s favorite part of the day…Sunset photos! Again, the wind was crazy but Kayla and Jon were troopers and took in every second of their alone time together.
Being a part of Kayla and Jon’s phenomenal wedding day was an absolute treat! With the gorgeous autumn vibes, fun atmosphere, and joyful couple it made for the perfect day! Cheers to the new Mr. & Mrs. Carter!
