I am a wedding and portrait photographer who keeps things light, fun, and full of energy. I’m based out of Springfield, Illinois however I love traveling all over the midwest and beyond.
inquire about your session!
“Can we bring props?” This was the text from Shannon I received leading up to her and Brett’s engagement session in Jacksonville, IL. My response was, “Absolutely!” Especially when your props are a beautiful motorcycle and a row boat! Shannon and Brett love to get outdoors and ride his Harley and get out on the water! So what a more perfect way to showcase their passions and love for one another than during engagement photos. I met up with these cuties at an old brick building with some abandon signage which was just right for the look they were going for! Shannon and Brett are so laid back and fun-loving making my job ridiculously easy!
After we played with the bike, we headed over to a local park which was popping with beautiful yellow flowers. Shannon and Brett were surrounded by this beauty and had no problems snuggling in with one another. During this time they shared how Brett proposed to Shannon, which was an elaborate plan involving a fake-ish family session with a pro photographer and the iconic Jacksonville Ferris wheel. Anytime the Ferris wheel is open and running this couple loves to stop by and go for a ride! So Brett arranged for them to open it up just for the proposal. Although for Brett, it was a bit stressful, he caught Shannon off guard and asked her to spend the rest of her life with him! Absolutely adorable!
Finally, we headed over the water where these two put their row boat in for another great level of their photos! Shannon told me she and Brett love the movie, “Little Rascals” and the row boat scene is one of their favorites! So we channelled their best Darla and Alfalfa and I think they turned out incredible! Shannon even picked off pedals to see if Brett loves her! And he does! Congrats to Shannon and Brett and I’m excited about their upcoming winter wedding!
Warm Regards,
One of my favorites for sure!
How beautiful are they, right?!
This was Brett’s suggestion! Just shows how fun these two are together!
“Dear Darla!”
