I am a wedding and portrait photographer who keeps things light, fun, and full of energy. I’m based out of Springfield, Illinois however I love traveling all over the midwest and beyond.
inquire about your session!
Julie and Nick love the St. Louis area and so they couldn’t think of a better spot for their engagement session. If you asked all of us, Forest Park is one of our favorite locations in the city! And I giggled a bunch when I found out they wanted to make a quick stop to start photos at Mike Duffy’s Bar & Grill in Clayton because that was a popular hang out for myself when I was going to college right down the street! Turns out, Duffy’s was spot Julie and Nick met for the first time when their mutual friends brought them there to play some trivia! And by all accounts…The rest is history! We found a little corner booth at Duffy’s and got the couple a drink to help ease them into photos. But, I could tell right off the bat these two wouldn’t have any problem getting close throughout our time together. After a little time reminiscing about the good times at Duffy’s we decided to head to Forest Park.
What is amazing about Forest Park is all the different hidden gems within the park. But, Julie and Nick knew the main spots they wanted to go. So we started off at The Muny and that gorgeous outdoor chandelier! There is something about a twirling bride with her future groom that brings the magic to this spot. Julie and Nick were absolute naturals and were 100% on board with a few quick diversions from The Muny space when the sun began peeking through the overcast clouds. Also, can we talk about how incredible they looking?! Julie in that maroon long dress and Nick in a coordinating button down! These two understood the assignment when it came to outfit choices, am I right?!
We finished up our time together at the World’s Fair Pavilion, which overlooks the downtown area and the rest of the park! The beautiful opened-air building brought so much drama to Julie and Nick’s photos with it’s tall tower, high archways, and vintage lampposts. And with these two making one more outfit change with Julie in the perfect short, white lace dress and Nick in an awesome gray suit they were dressed to impress! This couple took in every moment they shared snuggling in close, walking hand in hand, and stealing kisses! Before we finished up our session, we were lucky enough at the end of March to be gifted a STUNNING Cherry Blossom tree in bloom! Even though it was a bit of a walk from the pavilion, Julie and Nick were happy to make the journey. As soon as I captured the first few photos of them in front of that lovely tree I knew the trip was worth it! These were definitely some of my favorites. And believe me, there are SO many favorites!
Finally meeting Julie and Nick in a city they love was so special. I’m thrilled to be a part of their story and capture it all along the way to their big day! You won’t have too long because this sweet couple ties the knot next month and I cannot wait to bear witness to it all! Congrats, Julie and Nick!
Warm Regards,
On to Forest Park!
These two are so adorable together!
I mean come on…Aren’t they so sweet together as spring sprung at the perfect time?!
