For anyone who has ever met Theresa you know she is someone you will never forget! Whether you only have met her once or a thousand times, you remember her. I was blessed to have grown up with Theresa (or Bug, as we all called her). She always made you feel loved and included. We laughed uncontrollably and we sang songs at full blast driving around in her car. She is a daughter, sister, friend, dog mom, and now a bride! When she asked me to photograph her wedding it was an easy decision and I couldn’t be more excited for Theresa and her fiancé, Scott!

I met these two at Carpenter Park in Springfield, IL in the fall and to say we had a blast would be an understatement! Theresa and Scott both met a few years ago when both were working for a local corporation. They each have a goofy fun-loving personality (although Scott is a bit more quiet at the beginning). These two love nature! Going on hikes, camping, and spending time with their dogs. So of course we had to incorporate this into their engagement session. Starting photos with Theresa and Scott was kinda hilarious considering they both said they are super awkward in front of the camera. Knowing Theresa like I do, she is not a huge fan of PDA! So getting these two holding hands and kissing was comical! Then it became my personal challenge! But, I knew they would settle into it and between the laughs and hysterical commentary they were amazing!

The trees were at peak color so the sun popping through them truly highlighted this lovely couple! And before we could finish up our time together they had a quick outfits change, grabbed their huskies, Sage and Ryka, and we took a hike into the woods! We made our way back by the river for a few more wonderful photos that couldn’t fit this couple more perfectly!

I’m thrilled to be playing such a special role in Theresa and Scott’s big day this spring and I’m so genuinely happy my friend is happy! Cheers to this incredible couple!
