The third time was a charm for Katie and Brody’s engagement session in Petersburg, Illinois! Due to the rainy few weeks we had in October their engagement session just kept getting pushed back over and over. And when Katie had sent me a photo from the location on a family friend’s property out in Petersburg, I knew we needed an awesome sunset for our time together! So we waited and it 100% paid off! But, before we made our way out to into the country, we started at Katie and Brody’s beautiful newly renovated home overlooking the lake. They have been working hard to make it their own and it’s really awesome. We made our way around the house and then outside for a few dock photos. Then it was time for an outfit change and to head to their favorite watering hole, Hand of Fate on the Petersburg square. They have a little outdoor area which was perfect for a beer and some fun photos of this adorable couple.

We then headed out to the private property to finish up right before sunset! Katie wore a GORGEOUS cream maxi dress, which was simply stunning on top of the hill overlooking the sunset! Katie and Brody love the outdoors and try to get out any time they can. So getting to photograph them in their element was so special! And I mean they are basically models, which I told them so many times! I loved getting to know this lovely couple and I had an absolute blast with them! I’m so pumped for their wedding next year!
