With the uncertainty of the fall weather, Kayla and I were on radar watch leading up to her and Jon’s engagement session. But, thankfully the rain that was in and out of the forecast had cleared up so their photos were on! As I made my way out to New Salem in Petersburg, Illinois to meet the pair I was thrilled I could spend the evening with this adorable couple! The sun came out and it was a mild fall day! Kayla and Jon are both sweet and hilarious so we were laughing basically the whole time we were together. They are light-hearted, yet loved whole-heartedly. You can tell instantly when you are with them how much they care for each other. As we wandered around New Salem they were up for anything and looked amazing in one another’s arms! Kayla had grown up going to camp in the summertime at New Salem so she knew where all the good spots were and I had a blast getting to know their personalities better!

Towards the end the evening we headed over to their friend’s family farm, where we made a pit stop at the barn before heading out to the beautiful pond on the property. By this time, the golden light was streaming in and was perfect for this lovely couple! Kayla had said to me that she was OBSESSED with my signature silhouettes I do with my couples and wanted to make sure they got a few! Ummmm…Yes Please! She read my mind! And literally they couldn’t have gotten a better sunset for silhouettes! Now I’m even more OBSESSED with these photos! I couldn’t be more excited to capture this wonderful couple’s wedding day next year! I know it’s gonna be a great one!
