If you want to laugh a lot and have a blast you should definitely hang out with Abbey and AJ! I’m not sure I stopped laughing with them during their engagement session once we met up at the Illinois State Fairgrounds! Although this spot in Springfield, IL was not our first planned location after finding out there was a big car show downtown we had to make a change. When I was trying to think of a spot with some architecture and variety from the field where we had talked about going around sunset, the fairgrounds just popped into my head. As soon as I mentioned this idea to Abbey she immediately text me back to say, “It was like I KNEW her since she LOVED the fair!” YAY! These two looked amazing and told me they were super nervous about photos, but really excited! Once we got going they were 100% naturals! Abbey and AJ have known one another since high school, when Abbey had a secret crush on AJ even though they went to different high schools. They dated off and on and finally reconnected once the timing was right! Abbey, who is incredibly animated (which I adore) said she and AJ had put so much time into their relationship over the years she wanted to FULL engagement session experience! So they got it! I loved getting to know these two better as we wandered around the fairgrounds and had so much fun watching them interact together!

After the fairgrounds, we went over to Lewis Memorial, where the grasses were tall, the yellow flowers were popping, and Abbey and AJ were extra adorable in each other’s arms! They were up for anything and really took it all in knowing it was finally their turn! And although the sun tried to dip below a few clouds at the end of our session, that didn’t hinder the joyfulness exuding from this couple! I cannot wait to be part of Abbey and AJ’s special day next year and go on this wild ride with them! Congrats!
