Finding a couple who has fully committed to you even before they know if you are available to photograph their day is such a special feeling! Abbie reached out to me about her and Luke’s summer 2022 wedding and at the time I had another couple looking at this date. She was 100% ok with waiting on me (not looking at any other photographers) to see if this date would officially become available. And when it did she was ALL OVER IT! And I couldn’t be more grateful that my work had already made such an impact on Abbie before we even met! She and Luke decided to have their engagement photos done at their family farm right outside of Jacksonville, Illinois. The farm and cattle had been in Abbie’s family for over 100 years, if I remember correctly! And when her grandfather passed away, Luke stepped up to continue raising the cattle! I LOVE this! They will marry one another at the top of the hill where we actually finished up their engagement photos at sunset! I mean…All the heart eyes, right?!

Even before we made it to that hill, though, we started by the pond at a different part of the farm where the sun was bursting through the trees during golden hour and was perfect for photos of this adorable couple! Abbie looked beautiful in a floral navy dress and Luke complimented her so well in a crisp button down shirt and jeans! You can tell these two keep their relationship laid back and fun and that was absolutely the vibe their photos had. They even brought their sweet pups, Mya & Pepper. Miss Mya was a bit shy and decided most of the time that she would hide under Luke’s truck! Or mom’s dress! Sweet girl! So Pepper got a few photos with just mom & dad! Then after a quick outfit change and a back road drive to the spot that means so much to Abbie and Luke we made sure to include Abbie’s favorite barn. There we also met a few curious friends who popped their heads into the barn to see what all was happening! The donkeys had a front row seat to see Abbie and Luke snuggling up! Too funny! We finished up with a gorgeous sunset, some cattle hanging out in the rolling hills, and an incredible couple who I absolutely cannot wait to capture getting married next year!
