Jessica and Kyle’s wedding has been planned for almost two years and as we inched closer to their end of June wedding they unfortunately were affected by Covid issues. Because the restrictions in Illinois concerning the capacity for their original venue could not be determined by the time their invitations had to go out this amazing couple decided to downsize their day a bit. They chose to continue with most of their plans, but reschedule their big reception to next year. However, this did not at all take away from the amount of love and support Jessica and Kyle felt on their big day! And it definitely felt like all of the major events throughout a normal wedding day were included, which I was so happy they got to experience!
Throughout the wedding day, we were all watching the forecast as severe thunderstorms were ramping up in the afternoon. Luckily Jessica and Kyle took it all in stride and we changed their portrait location to a lovely covered spot in Downtown Springfield, Illinois to ensure if any bad weather did occur we still could get incredible photos! And boy did we! After getting Jessica dressed into her gorgeous lace gown with cathedral length veil (which was amazing by the way) she and Kyle did a first look at Jessica’s parents home before taking off downtown. Witnessing them see one another for the first time was so lovely. Kyle had to check out Jessica’s whole look and took it all in! When we arrived at our portrait location the sun was popping in and out of the clouds so I moved the incredible bridal party quickly to take advantage of the sunshine. The winds were a little tough, but Jessica and Kyle, along with their friends were total troopers and went with it all! The ladies were dressed in blush pink dresses while the guys wore navy suits and they looked amazing standing next to Jessica and Kyle. I got all the portraits done with the bridal party and a few with the couple before some super dark clouds started rolling in. We attempted to get a few more with the almost married couple however, once the Tornado Warnings started dinging on my phone I knew for safety reasons we needed to book it out of there! And we got out just in time as the dark clouds and lighting were rolling in!
As luck would have it, in the decision to relocate their wedding ceremony and reception, the couple chose to go south close to where Jessica’s parents both grew up in the Morrisonville, IL area. Because the storms were further up north we were able to avoid most of the rain the rest of their day! Hallelujah! For the couple’s ceremony they married in a small church surrounded by about 70 guests and was incredibly special. After exchanging rings and vows the newlyweds were pronounced husband and wife! YAY they are MARRIED! We then headed right down the road to the delightful Bullards Event venue which was decorated stunningly with a gorgeous long table, lush florals, and gold chargers for all of the couple’s guests. The evening was filled with lovely toasts, a first dance done while the groom’s brother played guitar and sang, and finished off with some sparklers! Jessica and Kyle’s wedding day was phenomenal and I’m thrilled for them to begin this new journey of marriage together! Cheers to Mr. & Mrs. Williamson!
