Well I would say we ticked all the boxes you want for perfect engagement session!! Gorgeous light, a fantastic location, well-thought of outfit choices, and of course an INCREDIBLE couple! If we could only now get their session in! It took us three tries to make it happen, yet I knew once we did it would be amazing!

As soon as I saw Ashley make her engagement to Weston official on social media, I’m not going to lie, I was really hoping to see her name pop into my inbox! Ashley was a bridesmaid in another LWP Couple’s wedding, Rachel and Ricky, who tied the knot two years ago. I remember how sweet and helpful Ashley was and I was really happy to see she had found her forever love in Weston. When I did hear from Ashley (YAY) she told me they were planning a wedding for this crazy year of 2021! Luckily after all of the wedding reschedules due to Covid, I actually had one of the dates they were look available (Double YAY!) But, before their big summer wedding needs to come engagement photos!!!

Ashley and Weston’s dream was to have their e-session photos taken on his family’s farm in Athens, Illinois. The couple lives on the farm right next to his grandparents and several other family members are all within a quick truck ride down the road! Love this! Well the ideas for their session came easy! The actual photographing it took a few tries to get it done due to the always amazing Illinois spring weather! We unfortunately had to have several reschedules due to storms, but I kept telling Ashley and Weston it would be worth the wait and they were definitely rewarded with perfect weather! We started things off with their adorable Beagle puppy, Arlo, who was full of energy and spunk! We became fast friends and he did so well with his puppy parents. After Arlo’s debut, I hopped in the truck with Ashley and Weston and we just drove around to some of their favorite spots on the property like a grove of trees overlooking some rolling hills, the pond where they told me they love to take their small inflatable boat out on, and we went on an adventure searching for a fallen tree for them to sit on close to the water! But we found it and it was gorgeous with the sunlight streaming in behind them! We finished up on a dock overlooking the pond as the sun set below the horizon! I absolutely loved getting to know Ashley and Weston more and the anticipation of photographing their wedding in July is ten times higher now!
