I am a wedding and portrait photographer who keeps things light, fun, and full of energy. I’m based out of Springfield, Illinois however I love traveling all over the midwest and beyond.

Usually, in my line of work as a wedding photographer, I meet the bride first before meeting her soon-to-be groom. However, it was the opposite in Baylee and Brock’s case. Brock and his family actually moved in across the street from my childhood home a few years before I headed off to college. He and his family had spent many Christmas Eves at our annual party as well as waves and hellos from across the street! This winter, I finally got to meet Brock’s lovely fiancé, Baylee when she and Brock attended a bridal show and they are just the cutest!
Although he went to school at Illinois Wesleyan to become a Cardiac ICU nurse and she just completed her Master’s of Science in Environmental Science from Southeast Missouri State (my hubby’s alma mater), these two LOVE the city of St. Louis! As do I as, my college years were down in the St. Louis area as well! So when they asked if we could do their e-session down there I jumped at the opportunity to return to the STL! We began our time together surprisingly at a spot they had never been to, Lafayette Park. I have photographed several weddings and engagement photos there and I have fallen in love with this park for sure! It’s definitely not as busy as our second location, Forest Park, but has so much charm. Baylee and Brock admitted to being nervous, but quickly calmed down and eased beautifully into photos! They did amazing! These two are adorably silly with each other, which made their fun personalities come out quickly!
We then headed over to the main attraction for this couple…Forest Park! In particular, we had three spots to hit up. First was the Jewel Box, a fantastic architectural greenhouse with tons of colorful flowers! Baylee and Brock saved their more “dressy” outfits for our second location and it definitely paid off! I’m mean they look AWESOME, am I right?! These two were giggling with one another the whole time and really brought life to their photos! We then headed for a quick stop at The Muni to capture the unique style of the building and some epic photos of this fabulous couple!
We finished up at the Grand Basin at the bottom of the hill where the Art Museum sits. And I won’t lie, this spot has incredible meaning in my own personal life since this is where my husband proposed many years ago! So when Baylee and Brock told me they wanted to go to this spot I got all the feels! It’s really one of my favorite places in the park! And after capturing a few of these two on the bridge we came around the corner to a stranger who just happened to turn on his speaker to play Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect” and I mean it totally called for some slow dancing! I think Brock and Baylee thought I was joking, but the moment was too PERFECT to waste it! A sunset slow dance I think was an extraordinary way to end their engagement session!
Congratulations to Baylee and Brock! My heart is so full capturing your love for one another and I am so excited to do it again on your wedding day!
Warm Regards,
Baylee & Brock were so fun wandering around the park!
Of course, their love of St. Louis means a love for the city’s Cardinals and Blues!
Although the park was bustling around us, we found so many spots that could be just Baylee & Brock! Even to practice their first dance!
