Madison and John are two kids at heart. This pair met in Auburn, Illinois in grade school when Madison (or Maddy) was in sixth grade and John was a year older in seventh. The playground at Auburn Middle School was the place where their love story began and naturally, now that their journey has continued from the monkey bars, to raising two beautiful children, and now sliding into marriage, we simply had to return to the beginning!

Within two seconds of arriving at the playground, John bolted for something to swing on! And after a bit of coaxing, Maddy hopped right on and this sweet couple went right back to their playful hearts! Can we also talk about Maddy taking on all of these playground antics in HEELS?! She totally rocks! The sun was peeking in just right too, creating a little magic for Maddy and John’s recreation of recess. Yet, the sun only graced us with its presence for a bit and we ended up racin against Mother Nature as a huge storm was rolling in!

We headed over to Nipper Creek Sanctuary to finish up their e-session, but on the way, I saw a huge dark cloud about to overwhelm the sun and I surprised the couple by pulling off the side of the road short of the sanctuary to ensure I captured a few more of these cuties with some glowy light! Luckily for me, Maddy and John were all about it! I’m thrilled we stopped in front of the beans for a moment or two. Then although we were heading into the darker clouds I knew the sanctuary would be perfection if we could get there before the rain came pouring down. Maddy was in an adorable yellow floral jumpsuit and I knew the grounds of the sanctuary had a few pops of yellow as well to compliment this sweet couple. Even though we lost the golden light to the incoming storm (we literally ended the session right as the lighting was starting), these might be some of my favorites from their session. The pure joy on their faces because they are in one another’s arms was lovely. Thanks, Maddy and John for an incredible session! Can’t wait for your 10.10.20 wedding day!
