I am a wedding and portrait photographer who keeps things light, fun, and full of energy. I’m based out of Springfield, Illinois however I love traveling all over the midwest and beyond.
inquire about your session!
Three years ago Brad was a new employee at State Farm in Bloomington, Illinois trying to find his way around the huge building. As fate has it, he happened to walk past the desk of a pretty young lady that he noticed immediately. After many intentional trips along that same route in the office, Joanna took it upon herself to stop Brad and introduce herself. They hit it off and shared many lunches together before going on their first date. The rest, as they say, is history! I first met Brad when I photographed his brother, Steven’s wedding almost two years ago to his lovely bride Kristin! So to say I was thrilled when I heard from Brad after he popped the question to Joanna would be an understatement! Because State Farm was the jumping off point for their relationship we decided to start their engagement session on the beautiful campus in Bloomington. In the middle of spring, the trees were in full bloom and were photo ready for the pair. Joanna and Brad pointed out the exact corner of one of the various buildings where they first met. I made sure to incorporate that same spot into their images. I wandered around with this adorable couple chatting about their big day coming up in July at an amazing barn venue just outside of Bloomington. I couldn’t be more excited about their upcoming nuptials!
After photographing Joanna and Brad at the spot that brought them together, we headed out to a place where they have spent many days relaxing and taking in the outdoors. Brad’s family has land about 25 minutes away from Bloomington. There were so many incredible options for capturing Joanna and Brad’s playful and sweet love for one another. From the pond to a classic red barn, and even a vintage wagon we hopped all over the property and were even blessed enough to use some neighbor’s farms for their e-session. And as we were finishing up Joanna and Brad’s session, a few clouds rolled in, but I knew if we were patient we would get an amazing sunset! I’m thrilled to say Mother Nature made it happen for these two! Their sunset photos are some of my favorites because I feel like it really showcased their affection for each other. I loved spending the evening with Joanna and Brad and I’m looking forward to all their wonderful moments of joy on their wedding day!
Warm Regards,
Lauren
