I believe I say this every time, but HOW has it been one year?! One year since beautiful Emersyn came into the world! And even longer since I have been lucky enough to work with Aryn and Matt on the journey from their engagement session to their wedding day! I was honored when they asked me to photograph their wonderful daughter’s newborn session. Which totally felt like yesterday! You can see photos from her newborn session HERE. Now Emmy is one and on the move exploring her surroundings wherever she goes! To celebrate her first birthday I met her and her parents at the studio in Springfield, Illinois to show off more of her personality. We started with Emmy plus mom and dad while she was in her fancy floral dress. She can’t get enough of them and we captured many sweet moments! Then it was Emmy’s time to shine as a big girl! After a quick outfit change into a delightful pink tutu, crown, and scripted gold “ONE” shirt, Emmy was ready to play! She enjoyed tossing around paper pom poms and laughing at mom and dad! I don’t think Aryn and Matt expected to get a workout during the session, but with Emmy taking every opportunity to take off they did a lot of picking up and placing back down! Lots of giggles were had though each time! We grabbed a couple more photos of Emmy in just her bloomers and a string of pearls, which couldn’t get any cuter before we finished up her session with cake! Emmy wasted no time digging into her smash cake and getting it all over her! Some kids I photograph with cake aren’t quite sure of exactly what to do. Not, Emmy! I barely had a chance to grab a photo of her investigating the cake before her fingers were in the icing! Oh my does she love cake! It was amazing to capture these moments for her and her family! I’m so thankful I have been able to continue to watch this family grow in love! Thanks, Peregrin Family!
