I am a wedding and portrait photographer who keeps things light, fun, and full of energy. I’m based out of Springfield, Illinois however I love traveling all over the midwest and beyond.

Looking back, I’ve known Megan for longer than I originally thought! Megan recently started working with my husband, Josh and he came home telling me about a new coworker, who is incredibly sweet and she was engaged looking for a wedding photographer! He began explaining that she used to work at a retail store pharmacy where I shopped and she sounded super familiar! When I sat down and met Megan and her fiancé Andrew this winter in Springfield, Illinois I knew her pretty face immediately! Megan was the same thoughtful, caring, and pleasant person I remembered! And her and Andrew are even more delightful together!
Fast forward to their engagement session last weekend! We had started planning their session for a bit further out in the month. However, when we all saw the mild winter temperatures that were going to be pushing 60 degrees we jumped at the opportunity to move the e-session up to take advantage! Megan loved the idea of beginning our time together at Lincoln’s Home and I couldn’t agree more! It’s always so beautiful there and was an awesome backdrop to show off Megan and Andrew! They started the session like any other couple, feeling a bit nervous about what they needed to do for amazing photos. Yet, within minutes they were total pros and enjoying their snuggles and kisses! We wandered around for a bit grabbing adorable photos of Megan and Andrew down the tree-lined street with various fences that make this historical part of town so charming! Before heading to our final location we walked over to Capitol Street to capture a few cute moments and have Andrew practice his dipping skills! He completely nailed it! We arrived at Washington Park just as the sun was gifting us some phenomenal golden light! The gazebo was still trimmed with holiday garland and I joked with the pair that it looked like the holidays, but felt like early fall! Seriously the weather was perfect! Megan and Andrew are fantastic at wrapping each other up and taking in each moment! We finished their session down by the pond where the sunset was reflecting perfectly off the water. By this point, the more reserved couple was fully comfortable in front of my camera and having a great time simply being with one another. I’m so grateful for the timing of Megan beginning to work with my husband and her and Andrew finding their way to me so I had the opportunity to photograph them for this session as well as their nuptials this coming fall!
Warm Regards,
Lauren
