Honestly, when I received my first email from Heather regarding her recent engagement I was pretty pumped! She had been in a wedding I photographed for her friends, Kayla & Ryan (HERE), last year and she was a blast and very helpful! So I was excited about the opportunity to photograph her and her now fiancé, Will for their big day! Heather and Will are hysterical together! They banter back and forth in the sweetest way and Will knows just what to say to entice out a huge smile from Heather! They decided since their 2019 wedding day will take place in the middle of the summer they wanted a change of pace and have their engagement photos taken in the middle of the winter! Luckily for them, although it was chilly, we caught the tail end of a “heat wave” in midwest and we didn’t have to freeze during their e-session! Heather told me she had never been to Washington Park in Springfield, Illinois but was looking forward to giving it a try! However, before we headed to the park we started their session in a spot near and dear to their hearts…The Football Field! These two LOVE football! Which is probably another reason why we get along so well! I’m a huge fan of the sport too! So this idea was a “Must Have” to capture the passion they share! Heather and Will looked adorable cuddling up in the bleachers together as well as on the field. We even incorporated an old football to add one more layer of fun!
After we spent some time at the football field and had a quick outfit change, we made our way over to Washington Park and the wooden pergola that Heather fell in love with from a few photos I showed her. Heather looked lovely in her black dress with floral sleeves and Will’s gray shirt complimented her perfectly! They really couldn’t get any cuter! And the amazing part was that both Heather and Will picked up on my posing cues so quickly and easily that I almost didn’t even have to tell them what to do towards the end of the session! They will be complete rockstars on their wedding day! I have no doubt! Heather and Will were both so full of giggles and smiles throughout the entire session and it made our time together even better! I’m thrilled I could be a part of their special day this summer!
