I love when a chance encounter turns into a lasting friendship! I first met Kristin in my daughter’s classroom during one of their many holiday parties. Kristin’s daughter, Avery was in Harper’s class and they had become instant friends! They even sat next to each other on the bus ride to and from school! So adorable! Kristin and I began setting up playdates for the girls as well as mom getaways for walks around Loami when we needed fresh air! One day, Kristin told me that she and her husband, Lee had simply gone to the courthouse and got married a while back. Yet, they were now wanting to hold a small ceremony to show their five children they have blended together as a family, how deep their love was for one another. The symbolic nature of the wedding was just as much for all of their children as it is for Kristin and Lee!
The couple chose to have their nuptials under the “Love Tree” at Lincoln Memorial Gardens in Springfield, Illinois. This spot holds a special place in their hearts as Kristin told me whenever the family goes for a walk in the woods they visit the tree affectionally called the “Love Tree’ due to the various initials of couple’s carved into its bark. The wedding was a simple and sweet creation of the pair, which showed off the couple’s personalities and love for nature. They wanted an intimate gathering of loved ones to celebrate with them and their union. Kristin looked absolutely stunning walking towards Lee in her gold satin dress complete with a shimmering floral design. I overheard one of her friends tell her, “That is not just a dress, it’s a Love Story!” I couldn’t agree more! Lee donned a tweed vest, navy slacks, and floral tie. Their kids, Kyla, Samantha, Liam, Bre, and Avery all looked amazing in a soft color pallet and the youngest girls wore matching white dresses and flower crowns. They really do have an incredible family! Kristin and Lee recited their loving and meaningful vows after their oldest daughters read a scripture and handsome Liam delivered the rings. They shared a delightful kiss and they all walked away hand in hand as a closer family. We finished with family photos along with more of Mr. and Mrs. White before heading to the reception.
Kristin and Lee hosted their family and friends back at the Falling Brooke Lake House, which was a quaint spot perfect for the vision of the day. Adding to the atmosphere was a fun bluegrass duo called The Peaches and Bacon Band, who played upbeat music complete with a fiddle and banjo. A trunk filled with vintage clothing and hats brought life to the very popular photo booth and the couple sent guests off at the end of the night with a homemade jar of jam as favors. To make their day even more special, Kristin and Lee danced to their oldest daughters Kyla and Samantha singing with the band for their first dance. It was a very sweet moment and the pride was all over mom and dad’s faces! Way to go girls!
Being a part of Kristin and Lee’s special day was an honor and I’m thrilled I could capture these moments for their fantastic family! I’m looking forward to spending more time with this wonderful family as our kiddos grow! Thanks again and congrats!
Warm Regards,
Lauren
