The journey from bridal show meeting, to chilly farm engagement session (HERE), to walking hand in hand on wedding day has gone in what feels like lightning speed for Maurissa and Bryce! And truly, the journey was a breeze with these two! Maurissa, and nurse, and Byrce, an IL State Trooper, who completed his academy training between our first meeting and wedding day, are very laid back and get along with everyone. I had been looking forward to their big day for a long time, which was all being held at the Wyndham City Center in downtown Springfield, Illinois simply because I knew how elegant, yet fun it would be!
Maurissa and Bryce chose to do a first look to have the opportunity and share an intimate moment together before the craziness of the festivities began. We arrived at Washington Park in Springfield on Saturday and the heat of the end of the summer joined us! It was HOT! Yet, with Bryce in his classic navy suit and matching tie and Maurissa looking STUNNING in her form-fitting dress with layers of ribboned tulle at the bottom, the soon to be Mr. and Mrs. Heaton were looking pretty HOT themselves! After seeing one another for the first time we made our way around the Botanical Gardens for more photos with this pair before their full bridal party arrived at the park. Maurissa and Bryce have a bunch of nieces and nephews who they could not have imagined their day without including. So we had eight kiddos in their bridal party from ages 2 up to 9! At times I think a couple of them were overwhelmed, but I think we were able to get a few photos with all of the party together! YAY! I’ll take it! Once we completed photos at the park we made a quick stop at the Illinois State Police Headquarters for Maurissa and Bryce to share their excitement for his new career path! Then we traveled around for a few more stops downtown for photos with their lovely bridal party! The ladies were in awesome navy long dresses with one of the best features ever…pockets! LOVE! And the guys were looking very handsome in their stylish navy as well! Then it was finally time to get all these beautiful people out of the hot weather and get Maurissa and Bryce back to the Wyndham to get married!
The ceremony was charming with a modern gold arbor draped in florals with an aisle lined with eucalyptus greenery. Maurissa was escorted down the aisle by her dad, Steven, and about halfway down she began to tear up a bit. I think the culmination of the journey and seeing the love of her life waiting for her brought out the emotions. The couple had asked Maurissa’s uncle, Matt, to officiate their nuptials. He did an awesome job bringing in laughter and commitment to their ceremony. And then they were married! The new Mr. and Mrs. Heaton were ready to celebrate with family and friends! The dazzling reception included modern gold accents, succulents, a delicious plated meal, festive guests, thoughtful toasts, and a first dance complete with dancing on clouds! Speaking of clouds, we were able to score access to the top floor of the Wyndham for a few epic sunset photos! These could be some of my all-time favorites! It was a spectacular day for the newlyweds and I couldn’t be more thrilled that I was part of it all! Thank You to Maurissa and Bryce for allowing me to play such a big role in their delightful day!
