A wedding day can entice many emotions from everyone involved. Happiness, joy, and a pure sense of peace of two becoming one are all emotions shared by the newlyweds. Sally and Brian’s wedding was no different. In fact, I believe the emotions were heightened by the intimate setting plus the small gathering of the immediate family last weekend at the Sangamo Club in Springfield, Illinois. Since Sally and Brian live up in Chicago and from the time they contacted me to the date of their wedding celebration we didn’t get a chance to meet leading up to the big day. However, their warm and welcoming spirit was apparent as soon as they walked through the door. Sally and Brian had communicated over the phone that their wedding was simply about speaking their vows in front of their closest family and allowing them to experience this special moment altogether. The couple stood in front of their loved ones and expressed some of the most sincere, honest, and heartfelt words I’ve ever heard. Their love for one another is deep and unconditional and I feel extra blessed I could capture and bare witness to it.
Yet, these two were not the only ones who wanted to share kind words. I watched as one by one, parents, sisters, and brothers stood up and spoke to Sally and Brian to tell them how much their relationship means. It was quite the statement to how incredible they are as a couple as well as how lucky they are to call these important people in their lives, family. Once the little ceremony was completed we took the time to get some family photos with everyone who attended. Then we finished with a bit of time of the newlyweds downtown at the Illinois State Capital. Being from Chicago, Sally told me how much she loved the architecture of the building and her and her new husband, Brian thought it was the perfect backdrop to have their first photos as a married couple! The new Mr. and Mrs. Hauk were fun, snuggly, and ready for anything! We wandered around the grounds and captured many photos showing off their delight and playfulness, which I think is the foundation of their marriage. It was an absolute pleasure for me to be a part of Sally and Brian’s amazing day and I wish them nothing but the best moving forward on this new journey.
Warm Regards,
Lauren
