Feeling so incredibly blessed to have the honor of photographing Amy & Cory multiple times over the last year and a half along with their family! Our first session was actually their maternity session when they were waiting the arrival of their daughter, Cassidy! I’ve captured all of Cassidy’s milestones throughout her first year. And now these two are tying the knot in 2019 and I’m thankful I get to continue the journey with them for this new step in their lives! We decided since they love being on the water, Lincoln Memorial Gardens in Springfield, Illinois would be the perfect spot for their engagement session! Now, actually getting to the engagement session was a journey of it’s own! It took four reschedules since March to get this pair in front of my lens, but I would say it was worth it! Weather played a huge role in our postponements. So much so that we joked that the next issue would probably be locust or frogs falling from the sky! Yet, we finally made it happen!
Cory has a way of making Amy laugh hysterically, which is lovely to watch! They joke around with one another and simply have fun together! We wandered around the gardens and grabbed a few photos as they walked about the trees and even made a quick stop on a little bridge. But, I knew they were itching to get down to Lake Springfield so we headed that way. Cory and Amy are avid boaters and love fishing with their family. Anything with the water they are into! Cory was mad that Amy and I wouldn’t let him bring his fishing pole down to include in the session. I knew if we did we would completely loose him for photos! Instead we chose to finish up with some silhouettes that Amy is obsessed with! Then to make Cory happy, I told him to grab out his fishing pole from his truck for a couple of ring shots with his hook! Since….wait for it….They are hooked on each other! Sorry, I couldn’t resist! I’m very much looking forward to their Spring 2019 wedding! I know we will have a blast!
