Maternity sessions are always very exciting for me to photograph for my clients! They are all about new beginnings and anticipation of how life is about to change for the better! This maternity photo shoot was a little more special since I was photographing a long time friend, Suzie, who I’ve known since grade school then went through high school with! We played basketball together and she was a standout softball player! Her laugh was contagious back then and she has not lost that gift! Suzie, along with her husband, Dan, and I were laughing throughout the entire session! They picked Lincoln Memorial Gardens as well as the Ostermeier Prairie Center in Springfield, Illinois to photograph this very important time in their lives. I’m so happy that we chose to push back their session a couple of times while we waited for spring to begin to show off! And with the purple and white flowers to compliment their photos, I know that was the right decision!
Suzie and Dan are having a little girl and over the moon about her arrival sometime in June! This mama to be looked gorgeous in her two flowing dresses plus her pink jeweled hair piece for a little something extra! Dan and Suzie are fabulous together and were open to any idea I threw out at them. And when I say we laughed throughout the session….We definitely did! From squeezing them in closely, walking hand in hand, and even during the grand finale of pink confetti there was full on belly laughing happening! Pun intended! Fun like this is never considered work for me! And although we were hoping to end with a glorious sunset we had some clouds roll in to prevent that. But, once again Suzie and Dan laughed it off and we were still able to finish up with some silhouettes and their own classic photo of Dan kissing that sweet belly! I can’t wait to meet their tiny bundle of joy once she arrives! Thanks again Suzie and Dan! I’m sending the best wishes and good juju for a smooth and fast delivery!
