We were waiting, and waiting, and waiting for spring weather to start blooming for Nicole and Drew’s engagement session. Finally the day came and on the way out to their session I watched a dark cloud hover over downtown Springfield, Illinois. I was getting a little nervous, however when I pulled up to our starting location and the rain was pouring out of the sky! Yet, I had hope we would still make the session happen. Want to know why? The sun was shining bright behind the clouds! We gave it a few minutes and BOOM! Rain stopped! I’ve been eagerly awaiting for Nicole and Drew to get a turn in front of my camera since sitting with them and officially booking their fall wedding planned for this year. They are adorable together and even playful with one another, which I found first hand during our time together. Drew is very goofy with Nicole and gets her laughing, which is exactly what I look for! They have a handsome one year old son together, who holds their hearts in his hands! Hudson will be a joy to photograph with his parents on wedding day, but their engagement session this time was all focused on their relationship! From the archways and amazing doors of a local downtown church to the bricks and ivy covered buildings we explored, Nicole and Drew were absolutely lovely! Not to mention how incredible Nicole looked in her maroon, lace dress! She was a stunner! Drew cleaned up pretty well too! After we finished downtown, we decided to complete their e-session at Washington Park, where the spring flowers were finally out! We practice a few twirls and their snuggling up and then were able to capture some fantastic silhouettes with an orange sky setting behind them! Can’t get much better than that! I’m so pumped for their big day this fall when they become husband and wife!
